Album Similarities/Representation

Postby KickflipCaleb » Apr 4th, '12, 05:56

Hey guys! First post here.
Something I've been thinking about for a while is the similarities in Ems first three albums versus his most recent three. SSLP, MMLP, and TES, versus Relapse, Recovery, and Hell: The Sequel (leaving out Infinite,Encore, and Re-Up on purpose).
Anyway, I feel like the order/flow of the first three is sort of re-made in the most recent three. For example, the flows on the Recovery(faster/harsher) seem to remind me a bit of the MMlP, while the slower paced, extremely dark vibe of Relapse reminds me a lot of the SSLP. I just feel like the deliveries are very similar and are being.....reincarnated?
Does anyone agree with me?
:p

Thanks! Good to know others see this. Do you see any similarites in TES and Hell: The Sequel?
I feel like Fast Lane stands out as TES flow. IDK, maybe that comparison is a stretch.

And yeah, it's like:

SSLP - Relapse
MMLP/TES - Recovery

This.

And Hell: The Sequel doesn't really compare to his other work...it's a collaboration project. I'd say Em obviously leans more toward the Slim Shady persona than Eminem on that EP though.

Throw It Up is just .....dorky. Yelawolf kills it, but Em is hard to take seriously. I do like how he is sort of mocking his "screaming" phase though. Experimental is a good way to describe it.

For what? It's just an EP. Next Em's solo album will be like TES 2. Comparing EP to the LP is really stupid.

It does have 11 songs with Em rapping on each. I say that's enough to compare? But it will be interesting to see what the next solo album will sound like...
