The worst part is, the album was nearly done when Relapse dropped. So he's probably just got it sitting there.

I dont belive it. I understand that he felt that he had to vent out his "recovery stuff". But if relapse 2 was SO good, than he would atleast do something with it. But nothing.
There could be a plan behind unreleased songs that are considered so good by Em. Maybe a mega album, "straight from the vaults"-type. But that would problably come out when he´s fossil fuel.

Recovery is not Relapse 2.

One year is a lot of time to make an album. He's done it several times throughout his career.

SSLP -> MMLP
MMLP -> Devil's Night
Devil's Night -> TES
Relapse -> Recovery

With songs like Buffalo Bill, Music Box, etc. that were scrapped and released just to hold us over until Relapse 2... imagine what's on the album.

I bet, if any Recovery songs, So Bad, On Fire and Ridaz woulda been on Relapse 2.

Oh No (with a more finished, polished sounding beat), Insult To Injury (that we heard much about), etc.

Relapse 2 is not Recovery. He said in one interview that after he got sober, he was writing so fast that they had enough material to release Relapse 2 AND 3, but he decided to go with different approach. So, yeah. He has a lot of material recorded & unreleased, laying somewhere in his studio.
