"That last Relapse CD was ehhhhh"

Postby Kill You » Apr 5th, '12, 19:26

Who else feels like this line ruins Not Afraid?

I'm not one to say a single line ruins a song, but this is an exception...I like Not Afraid, it's a decent song, but when he says this line I wanna cringe. It's not even because he's dissing Relapse, it's just the line sounds incredibly lazy to me. It's just the "ehhhhh" pisses me off lol. Anyone else feel this way?

Doesn't ruin the song for me... I agreed with that statement when it first came out (it took awhile for Relapse to grow on me ) but now when I hear it I'm like "ehhh"

This line and the ones in Talkin' To Myself made me hate Em for a while, he literally made me wanna puke when I heard that Relapse line, SMH.

Why did Talking to Myself make you hate him? just "Relapse I was flushing them out"?

I know honesty should be a great thing, but rappers should never say that stuff. It lowers how rap fans think of him, it opened an opportunity for Wayne & Ye fans to make fun of him and such stuff.

I just hate it, plain simple. I know i'm exaggerating but I honestly don't ever wanna hear him admitting weakness.

Huh. I love that he had the courage to be honest enough to admit that on the second track of his album, it just opened the album with brutal honesty. I admire Em more because he did that. It took big balls. And we all know it's true, just look at the crap that has leaked from Em's druggie period. At that time, they both really were better than Em, and Em would have ruined his career if he had made that diss track.

Well, i actually DONT mind that line mainly coz i agreed with him.... and still do. I love it when Rappers are self critical and go (from my view) in a more positive direction. However, i've always hated this one-

Weezy Keep ya Head up, T.I keep ya head up, Kanye keep ya head up

4 some reason it sounds so corny and "suck-up"
Songs of the year

I hate this line too.

The line in "Not Afraid", I don't mind it.

Man, why?

Song gets so much hate, but I love it. I think it's incredibly solid and honest in its lyrics.

I do agree with this. It was annoying listening to him say they were better, but at the time it was true. Em was facepalm worthy back then and releasing an album then would have ruined his legacy most likely.
