When do you think his voice started getting kinda fucked? Like, what we end up getting on Encore type? I was just thinking about it due to boredom, but I was trying to pin-point when that sluggish voice started to come through.

I'm guessing it had to do with the drugs, because after his hiatus his voice returned back to normal.

I really don't know though.

His voice changed after all the yelling (my guess), and then the drugs amplified it.

Right now, he's back to sounding like he did in his later songs on TES (such as Till I Collapse) and 2003 (the part of the year before the pills really got a hold of him, I mean). That was when his voice started to become deeper/thicker.

Part boredom, but I also think he was intentionally making his voice smoother.

He changes this vocal tones and style every album.

On The Eminem Show there was a lot of shouting and energy, so I think besides being bored, he also tried to reflect a calmer tone and style on Encore.

As if you listen to something like "Yellow Brick Road"... that's not just boredom, he's intentionally going with a duller but smoother / more flat-toned flow.

Reverse that, sweetie. I'm nearly 22 and have been a fan since 2002 or 2003. I was referring to is drugged out slurring of words he did on a lot of songs he was featured on during that time.
