Some more underrated lines.

I know this is a recurring thread but sometimes when I hear brilliant Em lines I think to myself "so much of his work must go soooo under appreciated" and I just get the urge to tell someone how great they are.

Drug Ballad
"I've got no game, and every face looks the same
They've got no name, so I don't need game to play"

"Cause if I get caught cheatin' then I'm stuck with you"

The whole of Drug Ballad is such a great example of Em's writing ability. But more specifically, these are examples of Eminem's unmatched humour.
I could imagine Loius CK having that second example as a punchline after a long set-up.

The Real Slim Shady
"Will Smith don't gotta cuss in his raps to sell his records
Well, I do. So fuck him and fuck you too"

I'd almost go as far and say this is his funniest line. Just perfect.
I have no idea why people try to discredit TRSS.

Cum On Everybody
"Shit I got full-blown AIDS and a sore throat"

Such a brilliant juxtapose. In terms of how insignificant and minor that is when telling someone you have AIDS. But also how significant a sore throat ultimately is.
..and no one seems to like this song.

Kill You
"I said shut up when I'm talking to you, you hear me? Answer me!"

I don't think (I hope not) this is underrated by Eminem fans. Along with the delivery, which makes him sound like he should be in a mental hospital, these lyrics truly show Em's creative genius. This could easily be dialogue for many great movies to do with mental illness' that kids study in English lessons.

i always thought the best line on the whole MMLP is on Kill You, third verse:

"Motherfuckers want me to come on their radio show just to argue with them cuz their ratings stink? FUCK THAT!!"

haha always made me laugh. plus (and someone can correct me if i'm wrong) i'm pretty sure he's the only one (or at least the first one) to speak on that sort of thing. i mean obviously every rapper talks about how fame aint all that its cracked up to be but i've just never heard anyone else being that specific. just the way he says FUCK THAT, fucking classic. idk. thts my two cents.

This is definitely a brilliant line which I love, which displays his great grasp of dark, comic irony.

Em was always funniest when being spiteful, eg:

"Got you locked in a cellar
With your skeleton showing
Developing anorexia, while I'm standing next to ya
Eating a full course meal - watching you starve to death"

And one of my personal favourites:

"If I could only use this power for good, I wouldn't... Not even if I could"

There's a lot of underrated lines and brilliant return to form with some dark, detailed humour on Relapse too, I'm thinking in particular of...

"You hold that pill any longer; it'll get sentimental value
Come on, toots, give me the Valium - alleyoop
I'll slam dunk it in your mouth 'til you puke
And just as soon you pass out in your alphabet soup I'm 'bout to, make a new outfit out of you"

'alphabet soup', brilliant.

A few other classic lines that spring to mind are...

"I'm the old man who lives upstairs and starves his pets
That never leaves his house
Cause he thinks his car's possessed"

"Put a knife in an envelope, and have you stabbed in the mail"

and

"A premature birth that was four minutes late"

and the brilliant...

"I'm pre-disaster; I fuck shit up before it happens"

Oh and just before I go, another slice of excellence that springs to mind is the following...

"You don't think you're leavin' this house in that, do you?
Not till I brand my name in your ass and tattoo you
And have you walkin' out this bitch in turtleneck sweaters
Scarves and full leathers - in 90 degree weather"

When he's on-point, he is comic brilliance and I'd go as far to say comedic genius (Ricky Gervais also praised him to this level) - there's no comparison between him and other 'comical' rappers; his best ironic writing has a spark and brilliance that is in its own world. And magic.

Gervais also did one of the best little summaries of Em's writing I saw too.

"he can be damning and still remain above it" - exactly. Perfect.

Broke in a mobile home and stole the stove and fridge/Kidnapped the parents and left a ransom note for the kids

Completely different but reminded me of this line which is great.
"Leaving you in the aftermath of holocaust and traumas
We blowin up your house killing your parents
and coming back to get your foster mommas"

Makes me laugh everytime I think about that situation.

I like his last full verse in Encore is sort of underrated.
