Forgive my wording, "right" might not be the correct term, but the title was too long.
So, as I'm sure some (or most) of you know, the beat for "Hailie's Song" was originally a sample-based production, pulling from "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by the Beatles. Beatles samples have historically been sort of a tricky thing to pull off, but apparently George Harrison (the guy who wrote it) was willing to approve the sample. Unfortunately, he died, and his widow wasn't so accommodating.
While I'm sure the song was completely reworked, I would be interested to hear what it would sound like with the vocals laid over a beat sampling "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". That's a beautiful song, and I'm sure it would have been a perfect fit.
Someone should do this, god damn it.
