He isn't being homophobic though, just playing the part to get a reaction. He doesn't actually have a prejudice against gay people. You wouldn't call Johnny Depp a pirate.

I think he definitely was homophobic early on - perhaps not enough to judge him as virtually everyone was really. But on SSLP I think there were a couple of examples.
