I think that this was the case. I think with his next album it'll lean more towards Relapse.

What about Ridaz though? That song's amazing.

One of the most things I hate about this album is Talkin' 2 Myself.

Ridaz is amazing. T2M, not so much. I never listen to that song, ever.

I don't really like the synths on Recovery either, but they're all right in 25 to Life tbh. I think it's a great song.

Same. I also like "Cinderella Man" despite the hate.

Yeah I really dig it too. I remember I hated the hook when it first dropped, but it grew on me.

Spacebound is probably my favorite though.

It used to be Going Through Changes, but the Spacebound hook also grew on me.

I like it for what it is. I don't like comparing it to SSLP, MMLP or TES because it's just completely different in pretty much every single way. I think with Recovery he wanted to put his name back out there... and it did that. His popularity skyrocketed again and he reached a much wider audience. I think conceptually it is a good album, but I think poor production let it down massively. Because of it I can barely listen to tracks like 'Almost Famous', "Won't Back Down' and 'You're Never Over'. Yes, there were a few (very) cringy punchlines and it seemed forced at times, but overall I really enjoy it.

I completely agree with the OP. I really enjoyed the album when it came out. I liked his flow and the fact that he went a completely different direction than relapse (relapse is my second favorite album) and it was interesting and fresh. But jesus, the more I listen to it now, the more I hate it. I can't stand all of his forced punch lines or puns, and the fact that he writes to set them up is even cornier to me. I really can't get past them anymore. Even a song like CWB has too many bad lines for me to enjoy it anymore.

However, I would say that the highs on this album are still pretty damn high (for me, Seduction, GTC, 25 to Life, Ridaz) but the lows on it are the lower than any other album he has, yes, even Encore. I would much rather shake my head and laugh at a Puke than sit there uncomfortably listening to a WBD or NA.

And finally, as to the T2M debate, I think he is clearly stating that at his lowest, drugged up, depressed state he thought Kanye and Wayne were better than him, and I would definitely bet that he doesn't feel that way anymore.

Almost Famous

Won't Back Down
No Love
Cinderella Man
Session One

Songs I dont like

LTWYL (song is written well, I just dont like it)
You're Never Over

How is WTP> No Love and Session One

And tbh, Ridaz an Session One should have replaced some of the tracks on Recovery. Cinderella Man and WTP should've been bonus. Won't Back Down should not exist.
