Eminem made a rare appearance in New York Wednesday to support his protégé. The elusive rapper was seen sneaking in through the back entrance of The Box to watch Skylar Grey perform during a release party for her new album, “Don’t Look Down.” We’re told Eminem was immediately escorted to the VIP area upstairs at the Steve Madden-sponsored event, where he was “cordial but not overly friendly.” After the set, he went backstage to congratulate Grey.

That's badass @ not overly friendly.

Still a moody dark prick even though he's achieved everything he could ever imagine, is considered a genius, is richer than rich could be, all by the age of 40.

I think he knows the darkness makes art interesting too. Keep it Em. It does.

Nice to see he actually does stuff, I find it interesting that he didn't show face or something to give the event some more publicity though.

Exactly. I couldn't find any other mention of him being there despite a bunch of media and photographers inside and outside of the event.
