Em's not just a name that blends in a crowd, there's no doubt he has almost complete say on when his shit is to be released.

I highly doubt that he wants to argue with anybody. When's the last time you heard him get pissed at ALL? When he makes his music, he's pretty much cut off from the outside world. He doesn't use computers and he's in the studio or in his house. He's probably like "I want to release this shit now" and Paul's like "Nah, trust me, not yet". Em's no expert in promotion. He's not a businessman. He's a rapper. He probably trusts the people around him.

Back when Relapse was in the making, there was some talk about a producer (Premo if I'm not mistaken) who said his song got scrapped because he let the cat out the bag and told some journalists he had a song on there.

Eminem is smarter than we all think. He's not a master in business or promotion, but he knows what he's doing.

Em had full control over Relapse. Look how well that turned out. Then came Recovery. I HIGHLY doubt he was like "Songs with Wayne and Drake? Yeah, let's do that shit cuz they're unbelievably dope".

He obviously has bosses but if you think he doesn't like Wayne and Drake then you're just being silly. Do you think if he really hated them he would perform with them at huge award shows, or even take a plane to go to a Drake show and perform with him? Nah man. He does like them.

And yeah, I know he has bosses. However, he's a boss of his own and he releases his stuff whenever he wants to. Maybe not the day he wants to but if he says he wants to release it in September, nobody is going to tell him no. He's Interscope biggest seller. They need him.

I think it's mainly because he has gone through a lot of life changes in the last 3 years. He put out music when he was sober, yes, but now he's more into the sober lifestyle and that's a big change for him. Sobriety is now reality to him, it's not "new" anymore. That would change a lot of writing related things.

He has probably worked on a bunch of stuff, scrapped it, new stuff, scrapped it, new stuff ect. Simply because of his own growth. He wouldn't use stuff that didn't feel current to him, if you know what I mean.
