Survival is what you call Good?

Postby Hopsinshadie » Aug 15th, '13, 12:24

He shouldn't have that song on his upcoming studio album. He's constantly yelling all over the place and his flow is just as choppy as ''Won't Back Down.'' It simply is mediocre at best. This is what you want to hear on an Eminem album? A good upbeat song would be ''Till I Collapse'' or ''The Way I Am.'' Now all Em can do is yell repetitively, almost sounds like he's literally spitting (not spittin) all over the place. To all the Stans, just be honest with yourself. You don't want this junk, do you?

Yes, it's what I call good. Not great. Not earth-shattering or game-changing. But I can listen bump to it comfortably. :coffee: So you, sir...

It's called opinions. He didn't say it was the best song ever, he said it was just good.

I also found it meh but I don't consider it bad. If others find it good then others find it good, deal with it.

I agree with you, I didn't expect anything like that for his new album... I like it though but I didn't want it to be on his new album... Where is his creativity, all what he can do is fucking screaming... Richard and CLMR made me look forward to the album but this song didn't.

I really thought he was done with shouting but it looks like I was wrong... Hey Em, what happened to you and your creativity? :coffee:

Richard? Seriously? You want a song like RICHARD? What's wrong with you?

I meant the flow like on Richard or CLMR.

Although the whole song wasn't bad, I think.

Nah it's not that good. It is absolutely fine for what it is (a game soundtrack song to generate buzz for an album) but I do not want it on his album and I hope it's not a sign of what's to come.

Understand these things.

1. He can use this song for EVERY fucking opening to his concerts for the next however many years he wants to.

2. This shit will have longevity, the chorus and his motivation 'this is it' 'don't quit' lines are gunna be played during every god damn NFL game YOU WATCH.

3, Its THE FIRST SONG HES SHOWING US ON THE ALBUM, YET NOT A SINGLE? Yeah cuz the single is gunna be nothing like this, but he doesn't want you to shit your pants when you hear some different style on the official single. This is basically his warning that hes back.

Yes, this is good and lyrically is what I was wanting/expecting. This is way better than WBD, you should be happy he dropped a song for a fanbase that is ungrateful and who he owes nothing to. Be glad he's still able to pump out songs like this and have it sound cool, fresh, and awesome.

You say yelling, I say loud; crisp, energetic, passionate delivery.

You say choppy, I say razor-sharp, precise and rhythmic.

Flow isn't choppy at all... and he isn't yelling.

"25 to Life" is yelling. "Survival" is called rapping; rapping with fantastic lyrics, a brilliant flow and a unique blend of delivery; constant emphasis on rhyme schemes, saying something in a casual, off-hand way one moment as if going off track then back to the rhyme scheme...

Actually funny humour.

And it's fuck all like WBD. Only things they share is the vibe/atmosphere of the track, his "I'm back and I'm proud" post-Relapse attitude... but lyrically "Survival" is on another planet, WBD is absolutely hurrendous in spots, okay in some, great in bits... the flow of WBD is like a constant tone of anger with choppy, bunchy break ups of the flow... "Survival" isn't that at all, how is LOOOSE MY SHIT! choppy... people seem to say ANY pausing or any like... precision aka emphasizing the rough edges of words is 'choppy'... no, it's called drama. Em really wants to mean what he says, exaggerate, be comedic, dramatic, OTT, he ain't like Jay just keeping 1 tone, saying very predictable things in a very relaxed, predictable and unoriginal way.

It's not choppy... it's called timing. The beat drops out you'll notice, LOSE-MY-SHIT!, clap-clap-clap!... it's called a constructed flow and layered delivery, with timing and melody. God... the Em fans who just want him to rap in a really uniform, same-old tone and rap good but uninteresting rhymes about very normal life shit so they can 'chill' or 'relate' are so fucking boring. How is he ever going to break the mould of rap's limits or push himself doing what he's done.

And I wouldn't be saying all this if I didn't enjoy the fuck out of the rap by the way. Something being different is no good if it's shit COUGHYEEZUSCOUGH, but this is classic. So...

Yep... this is what I call good. Beat and hook are medicore; Eminem's performance? Fucking good.
