honestly both have their share of strengths and weaknesses.

but i'll go with recovery

Relapse has strong production. Recovery doesn't.
Relapse has fluid rhyming, whereas Recovery is clumsy.
Relapse is a bit more honest, whereas Recovery is a bit manufactured.
Recovery had the perfect mood to it; Relapse was ruined by it's accents.
Recovery had the dynamic presence and energy Relapse lacked.
Recovery had more meaningful songs whereas Relapse had lots of filler.

See? Polar opposites. This is why it's hard to compare them.

I wouldn't say Relapse had lots of filler. Recovery wins on content, but Relapse doesn't have that much filler.

I dunno, Bagpipes, Medicine Ball, Old Time's Sake, Must Be The Ganja all felt like filler, though I like them all.

Bagpipes from Baghdad was pure filler but the flow was definitely good enough to keep it afloat for sure.

We Made You, Must Be The Ganja, Underground, Old Time's Sake and Crack A Bottle should have been cut from the album and replaced with songs that would actually be memorable years down the road.

I like the horror story vibe, but those songs don't really tell a story in a way that My Mom, Insane and Same Song do. And honestly, the delivery of Same Song was horrible.

Bagpipes is DEFINITELY not filler. Must Be the Ganja leads into the skit and Deja Vu. Old Time's Sake I agree with. Crack A Bottle gives the "celebratory" vibe that's perfect after the feels-fest that was Beautiful.
