Recovery production is not THAT bad

Postby Kill You » Sep 28th, '13, 17:39

It's nothing spectacular or anything. It certainly has the weakest production of all his albums excluding Infinite. But listening to it again, it's really not so terrible. For Eminem these beats suck, but if any other rapper hopped on them I'm sure they would not get as much hate as they do get. I understand why Em picked these beats, even if it sounds like one big hot mess. It's still not a bad hot mess.

I don't know.

There are beats from the other albums that I can listen to only as instrumental, but there is no beat I listen to from Recovery. So Bad's beat is dope though

It's that bad.

And people always use other people to make support their points for Eminem. I don't care what mediocre rappers do. I already know they are bad. Them being bad doesn't make Em's albums better. I expect Eminem to at least be good.

The beats sound rushed and cheap, because they are. Em was quickly making an album that I personally believe he didn't even want to make.

He's too deep into a career to pump out albums that close together. He should of taken two or three years, like he did with the new album.

Instead of getting three or four hundred generic beats sent to him and picking out the least shitty of those beats to make an album around.

Listening to Seduction again. Dat chorus, those lyrics, dat beat, dat flow, dat part without beat. Everything is great about it.

I really like Seduction. That and Space Bound are my favorite tracks on Recovery tbh. Not a big fan of the album overall, though. It's obvious that it was rushed. Thank God Em has had three years to perfect MMLP2.

He started working on it a year ago.

Yeah, wishful thinking on my part. You're probably right. It's more like 16-18 months.

I don't understand the hate for Recovery's production, honestly.

But yes, it's clear it was rushed, as he changed directions from R2 to Recovery mid-to-late 2009.
