I actually don't really like Em's verse on No Love.

Obviously a lot of it is awesome. But some of it sounds awkward and hard to listen to for me. And the monopoly board line is actually horrendous haha.

Yeah his No Love verse is mediocre. Most on Recovery are.

I did, and i still like it. The attitude on No Love is cocky just like in Rap God and i love it. Of course its got the edge of someone wanting to prove how good he is that makes it that more jaded i guess.

Yeah and he sounds clunky and boring as fuck in comparison now I listen again.

The main difference (aside from MUCH better writing) is that Recovery had a lot of a 'constant tone' flow, where as RG is more relaxed. Still sounds intense, but sounds like genuine fun.

I'm glad he hasn't stopped the punchlines either but has just continued to the point that he effortlessly slips them in now... the ones on Recovery are fucking beyond abysmal in places.

The level of improvement is immense, with all aspects, with RG.

His flow has a bounce to it and he also sounds entertaining - despite it being six minutes, due his more conversational style and natural tones which go back and forth: he sounds funny again and he's also got rid of the awkward set-up structure of Recovery-era punchlines.

They're just part of his dialogue now as apposed to "HERE'S A PUNCHLINE COMING, HERE IT COMES: AND HERE IT IS - LAMMME YELL IT LAMMMME", now he sounds effortlessly complex.

The only questionable one was the laptop in his backpocket one, just feels like he couldn't resist it and mainly the rhyme / flow of it too though. But it doesn't sound cringing: probably because of his smooth style and delivery, doesn't feel like a "ffs" moment, just sounds effortless.

That line was questionable because if he did have a laptop in his back pocket his references probably wouldn't be so dated

I really like how he delivers "Oh, he's too mainstream" best voice acting we've had since his return.

Well, that's what they do when they get jealous, they confuse it
It's not hip hop, it's pop, cause I found a hella way to fuse it
With rock, shock rap with Doc

On point lyrics too.

I like his flow at the start of verse 3 too "I'm omnipotent..."
I'm not tryin to be rude, but I sincerely wanna fuck the taste out of your mouth

Yeah and also...

the way he goes "it's not hip-hop, IT'S POP" and continues that delivery/flow is cool as fuck.

Don't think he's properly done that before. Normally when he'd speak as someone in a song / do a mockery - he'd kind of break out of the flow, or certainly not continue a pattern like that, but I may be wrong/hard to remember everything right now, as he's done quite a lot of that.

But it sounds fucking cool. I think MMLP2 will be really entertaining.

hindsight is 20?20 right?!

also

"While I'm masterfully constructing this masterpiece as" would have sounded better if he did it like this "While I'm masterfully crafting this masterpiece as"

plus

"Let off then I'm reloading immediately with these bombs I'm totin' would have probably flowed and rhymed better if he did it like this "Let off then I'm reloading immediately with these bombs I be totin'

and maybe

"Basically boy you're never gonna be capable
To keep up with the same pace looking boy"

to

"Basically boy you're never gonna be capable
To maintain with the same pace looking boy"

but thats fucking all !! he rhymes this song so fucking perfect it blows my mind each fucking time !!! fuckkk!!!

The way the verse starts ... "I'm alive again, more alive than I have been in whole entire life" is so powerful, it always give me chills. One of the best verse on Recovery imo with the 4th of GTC and 2nd of Almost Famous. He just killed it and bodied Wayne while at it. Liked the "Get 'em" before the verse start though. Too bad the sample is badly done.

Lil Wayne was fine on No Love though. I think Em edges him but mostly due to delivery and intensity. The content was pretty ehhh from both rappers. I seriously don't understand how some people totally shit on Lil Wayne's verses on No Love and DTW but defend some of Eminem's most horrible lines.
