The Monster has a very catchy chorus

Maybe even better than Berzerk, chorus wise. It just keeps getting better each time I listen. But I will still stick to my opinion and say that if it's any indication of the rest of the songs, I don't want that. The whole album has to be hard and this has to be the one exception. Except we already have Survival which makes me really worried.

The Monster is a very nice sounding song but it's not what we want. If eminem just released this song as a bonus track, I'd love it. It's not right for MMLP 2. If an album is named after MMLP, even if it's not a direct sequel, this is not the type of track you want to hear. We want to hear Em bring it. That's why we all like him in the first place.

The Monster isn't nice sounding, it's the worst song Eminem has released in a long time.

People say it would fit on Recovery and all that... I don't get that at all. Way I see it every single song on Recovery is far better than this*. They are all Eminem, they have personality and feeling. The Monster ONLY sounds like boring, generic pop. And he's "revisiting" a theme he has done so many times "done" and "tired" doesn't even begin to cover it and he does it in a less and less inspired way for every time he does it.

Yes it has a few nice lines but what the hell.

Yesterday I could see the comedy in the situation... can only see the tragedy now.

Cue the "hater" haters.

I have a new theory & hope I'm right. He doesn't want to waste his bad ass punchlines on a radio song that doesn't need it. So he's saving it hopefully for the rest of the songs. He felt that Monster would just work itself out since most kids don't listen to the lyrics anyways.

Well I for one am not saying the album is going to suck, that Em "fell off" or shit like that.

But this particular song is a total embarrassment.
