Full potential / peaked line

Postby EminemBase » Nov 8th, '13, 08:54

I've heard a few people say how this line is a poop punchline...

Can someone explain to me how this is even a punchline, I honestly don't how it is?

not sure if serious....?

Its a punchline coz he is using "wordplay" on the word "peaked" with double meaning. Its poop because the other meaning has no relation to the rest of the story therefore coming off as forced.

Yeah I understand that's what it is, but what's the double meaning/use of the word?

I don't know of another use of the word peaked here?

Oh okay, for some reason my mind just wasn't clicking... that's pretty contrived which is why lmao.

PS. just listening to "Bad Guy" again now; the 'voice acting' part with Matthew yelling at Em etc. is so fucking cool and authentic. It may be my favourite part of the song, even more than the outro.

The 'I hope you hear it' linkage was great, and just that whole section is prime-level brilliance.

I like the fact that he also quoted such an obscure song such as "Desperados" on there. Sort of shows Matthew's level of Stanliness.

How does it have no relation? As a result of Em leaving his family in shambles, Matthew was never able to blossom and reach his full potential.

i like the punchline, i think its clever, you guys are too fuckin critical, it isnt a bad line at all. the way he delivered it is what made it not corny, he sounded like a fuckin creep and that provided great imagery for the line.

The way he delivered it made it corny! Lmao it was just like that window pane line, its so LOUD. The reason so many people have pointed that out is because he made it so obvious. The dramatic voice he delivers it in. The pause thereafter. The laugh. It is all so goddamn contrived. And bad. Awful.
