Papoose - "Black God"

Postby EminemBase » Nov 29th, '13, 09:56

He didn't do a bad job at all - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... RS4pm44-gg

Good job of mirroring Em's flows and lyrics, keeping the structure but saying his own ish.

:facepalm :facepalm @ YouTube comments saying he ripped the flow from Em etc. lmao, and would have been better if he didn't do that. That's the point you fucking morons, it's an homage and mirror to the original, like when Em mirrors / homages flows and lyrics in his diss tracks.

God YT phagz are tarded.

The point of this was to prove he's better or just as good but to me it sounds like a parody just because he mirrored the flow and lyrics.

Any average rapper could've done just as good, mirroring stuff but saying your own ish ain't that hard tbh

That obliterates the point of a mirror homage.

If you create entirely different flows and sounds... you're just making a different song entirely over the same beat. This is a true homage in the way Em used to do them...

All of his lyrics are original, but you get the 'feeling' OF the original due to the mirroring. That's decent and I don't think any average rapper could do that at all.

Well, I think Papoose is a WOAT rapper so I might be a little bias here.

Really? @ WOAT?

I don't listen to the guy but I just heard this...

He can rap. WOAT seems pretty extreme / absurd given his ability lmao.

The fuck is this fucking trash?
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.

Could have been executed a shit ton better, but that was dope.

Fucking people need to listen to shit like Hail Mary. Em and the crew used the SAME EXACT flows and rhyme schemes as Pac. You need to understand that it's not about trying to sound better than the original, but getting your own point across, while paying respect to a dope artist/piece of work. Loved Papoose's confidence.

That's done intentionally to pay homage though, not out of laziness :confusion:

Em / Papoose are intentionally mirroring the schemes, but with their own lyrics, to give you the feel of the original and pay homage...

If you come up with totally different schemes and flows over the same beat... that is not homage. That is just a completely different song over the same beat :confusion:
