I heard the Real Slim Shady yesterday. I have not heard that song in public in a decade. I can't believe I heard it at the gym. Today heard Lighters. Is there a reason why some of his songs are getting more play?

It's actually quite brilliant. Eminem came out of his rehab in 2008 ready to retire from hip hop, but there was a problem. He knew that he would look pathetic if he quit, because he has previously stated that he will rap until he collapses. While some believed that he would retire when his fire dies inside at 30, most understood that his intention was to rap until his body decomposed into a substance such as fossil fuel. In order to maintain his legacy and end his career without looking like a quitter, he decides to release complete garbage music in the hopes that he would lose his fans. It started with Fack, and he was not afraid to continue releasing amateur music, including an entire album of him unsuccessfully impersonating a middle eastern man. Unfortunately it backfired. Fans thought it was beautiful. They said he recovered his level of skill. But truely his biggest fans knew this wasn't the real slim shady. It just wasn't the Marshall Mathers they all loved. But they pretended, they would lie and call Relapse a masterpiece. And Eminem knew it wasn't the truth, but it didn't matter, because he loved the way they lied. He started going through changes and began to do everything in his power to please his Stans. He released a sequel to his greatest album, but that wasn't enough. He needed to please all the fans who stayed with him through rough times. He started to do so one by one, by searching through a fan site. He found his biggest fan, ZoltShady, and offered to take a picture with him. He kept doing favors like these and eventually got to you. Because he was too busy making more brilliant records, he wasn't able to meet you in the flesh. Instead, he called your gym and ask that they start to play more of his music, he knew that would make you happy. And that pretty much sums it up.
