Underrated Songs By Great Artists

This is off topic, but I can't help but notice your taste in music is eerily similar to how mine was a few years back
You should check out Latyrx, not many people know of them, but if you like Blackalicious I think you'll like them (they were signed to the same record label as eachother)

Freestyle Fellowship (since you're an Ace fan you probably know these), Busdriver, Mr Lif and Juggaknots are a few others that I think would be right up your alley

I'll be sure to check them out , do you mind me asking what your current music taste is like? And where do you get all these Hip Hop artists from, I just check this one guy's RYM account who has a very similar taste to yours, but has reviewed albums all the way from rap's inception till current day.

I'm not too big on underground hip hop anymore, probably because I spent years listening to that and nothing else, I'm more into the production side of things too, so atm I'm lstening to guys like Killer Mike and Clipse, J Dilla's Donuts and Vintage Vol.2 have being getting plays by me too, but.Southern hip hop is my new addiction, come Autumn/Winter time though, I'll back bumping that grimey NY shit

Right now I'm favoring Minneapolis Hip Hop (Dessa/POS), with a bit of early west coast 2000 alternative Hip Hop (Blackalicious, Zion I, Deltron 3030). I used to be in the mid 90s NY phase as well, and have still yet transitioned to production, other than Nujabes and a little bit of Oh No.

I haven't really checked out the south other than Big Krit, tbh.

Its a great site, G.O.Z, Nodima and Diction in particular are excellent users if you're looking to discover new hip hop music
Those aren't bad addictions at all man, Pos and Dessa are both dope, and altenative West Coast music at that time period was quality

I only really became a beats over lyrics person when I discovered what RZA sampled for the chanting noise on Ice Water off OB4CL, since Ithen I've been more interested in the production side of things

Its good to see somebody else on here liking the kind of guys you mentioned

I've browsed through his account too, definitely one of the best contributors to hip hop music on there
To be honest,I don't to a lot of instrumental albums, but I do prefer the soundscape to song rather than its lyrics ,maybe I do have a Rock fans mentality in that aspect, but I respect and admire a good rapper and/or a potent songwriter

And yup, that is one reason why I ove MBDTF so much, BUT the concept of the album is what strikes me most

And speaking of MBDTF, I think Hell Of A Life is an underrated track by Kanye

Definitely, and me too. Plus he's the original punch-line king and is a decent producer as well. Have you heard Down For The Underground? That's my favorite non-album song from him.
