There was a guy named Joel Turner from where I live who blew up after he beatboxed on Australian Idol, he's internationally famous now and has a few studio albums under his belt.
So, the whole system works, but it's pretty fucked up sometimes.

This is soo fucking stupid.
I used to bump this all the time.
It's really good shit and they were pretty young when they recorded the album this song is off.

This was basically back when shows like these actually offered opportunities, of course, it takes a crisis for people to get noticed, everyone was on the brink of insanity before they got signed.

I still have a shitty 192kbps WMA CD rip of this album, but I haven't been able to find a fresh copy to torrent it.
