Kid Cudi reveals "indicud" (new, double-disc LP) features

Postby OMEGA » Jul 10th, '12, 21:37

Sounds dope as fuck:

"Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, Cudder wrote that he has so far collaborated with Kanye West, Jaden Smith, Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar, Chip and Cage. He said that he hopes to get in the studio with 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks, as well as Jay-Z, Diplo, Ratatat and MGMT."

Except for Jaden Smith, all the collabos sound great. Specially excited to hear Cudi along Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent.

All the collabs bar Jaden, 50 and Lloyd sound good... so many collabs again though. I'm still waiting for every rapper in the fucking genre to get out of the habit of having 100 other people on their albums now... nobody has the balls to craft a full solo album now.

When I read the first part, of those first names, I thought "oh okay, not so bad" but then the second part about him also hoping to collab with all those, it's like... jesus, that's enough!

I wish rappers now would focus more on creating compelling content and less on who's gonna be on the track with them. They need every other hook and verse done for them. Sigh.

Cudi x MGMT shouldn't disappoint!

Ye & Pusha feats weren't surprising, good to see he's recording with Cage again, MANIAC was great.

K.Dot x Cudi? nice

50 & Banks, unexpected tbh, even tho they did a collab during GOOD Friday days.

but overall, I think this album will be awesome.

Cudi said that indicud will be kinda like a Dr. Dre 2001, so that's why the number of features makes sense.

Man on the Moon 3, I presume, will be more personal and without many features.

He is for this album. He's producing 80% of the album. He produced WZRD with Dot da Genius too.

Some artists don't have the ability to make compelling and hypnotizing hooks. If Game did half of his abums hooks, I'd shoot myself. Same with Jadakiss.

Yeah but Cudi certainly does!

He's one of the best hookmakers to come out of modern hip-hop in a while.

And there's really not an excuse for it, it's like... most are not compelling hookmakers because I don't think they try. It's just easier to slap a name or a popstar on it instead. But the hook is a huge part of the song... or at least it should be. Where as now it's just a vaguely related sung melody.

Rappers should be creative with hooks... sigh. Sick of complaining, fuck it, whatever will be will be. It's just frustrating seeing talented rappers like B.o.B for example, PLASTERING their albums with hooks and features when they of all, don't need it. Everything is watered down, down, down.

C'mon son.

Ratatat (pronounced rat-uh-tat) is a New York City electronic music duo consisting of Mike Stroud (guitar) and producer Evan Mast (bass, synthesizers).
