{Theory} Royce has an unreleased track dedicated to Eminem

Postby Eedee » Jul 18th, '12, 10:35

Here's the snippet Royce showed around 100 guys during a gathering: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuVVy9Fn ... e=youtu.be

The quality is bad because the dude recorded it through his iPhone and Royce was playing it through a laptop, plus they were talking in the background. Now, the video background says "Slaughterhouse", but to my knowledge, this was only Royce showcasing snippets, so this may have been a solo track. And I think this one is dedicated to Eminem. Here's why:

(:00 - :05): "...a thing, my friend. Cuz now we got it all..."
~ Notice how Royce does not say "my friends", as in plural. He says it as a singular "friend". If he was just doing the generic shit like John McCain used to do and say "Hello, my friends" or shit like that, he'd say it plural. But he does not; instead he says it singular, which implies he's targeting a single person. Moving on.

(:19 - :22): "Here I am, just like you're king..."
~ Here Royce is, just like "you're King" (Eminem).

(:22 - :25): "... you made that product, you can push that with me."
~ Royce is building up the "clues", so to speak. Back in '99, Royce hopped on the SSLP on "Bad Meets Evil". Maybe he's talking about how Em made that product (the album) and Royce hopped on that track to push it with him.

(:26 - :32): "... I've made mistakes [...], and I was made to wait... {talking} but it made me great".
~ Royce made a mistake back then, causing a falling out with Em, hence the "made me wait". There's fucking talking ( :shakehead: ) during the music so I can't hear what he says but then goes on to say "but it made me great". I can only imagine here, but I think he says something about the wait made him work that much harder because it made him great.

(:32 - :43): ".... we came into the game too proud... Slim Shady LP"
~ "We" came into the game. Royce and Em, with the Slim Shady LP.

(:49 - 1:03): "... I was rolling 'round with Slim Shady and Dre, put your mind away, I was young then (and crazy). I was young then (and crazy). I may be a little bit lazy. Respect. And I ain't got no respects."
~ This speaks for itself.

(1:06 - 1:18): "If I could do it (do it), do it all again... I wouldn't change a thing (a thing...), my friend. Cuz now we got it all."
~ This is back to the chorus. Royce said if he could "do it all again, he wouldn't change a thing, my friend". Notice the same singular "friend". Why wouldn't he change a thing? Because the strife and the wait made him great, because now, him and Em "got it all".

-------------------------------------

Conclusion: Royce wrote and recorded an unreleased song dedicated to Eminem. This is only one verse and the chorus, but listening to the lyrics and the beat (an upbeat, inspirational type), it all points to him calling out Em and saying basically, 'Hey, I know I messed up. But we're cool know and we're better than ever. We got it all".

I know it may be a reach, but I wouldn't be surprised if Royce released a solo track (hell, could even have a verse from Em himself, or maybe it IS a Slaughterhouse track and everyone has verses talking about Em and Royce did the hook, I don't know). But it may be called "We Got It All" or something, judging from the chorus. You heard it here first though - Royce has an unreleased track dedicated to Eminem. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. It's whatever. But what I do know is that this song will be catchy as fuck and deep. The snippet shows this. (I've been bumping this snippet on replay for hours on end the past few weeks. It's brilliant.) But I still think that's what this song is about. :y:

;)
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

I think it can be this Cee-Lo's song from his album with Royce featured.

if this was a dedicated track, Royce would be saying more concrete stuff cuz he never has a problem mentioning Eminem in his songs

@Menzo - Yessir. Royce said it was an auto-tuned hook and that he probably release it... :'(

@slimsoxshady - Remember, there are parts you cannot hear, perhaps he does name drop Em there but they just talked over it (for good reason, perhaps?) :8)

It's Menzo dude, don't worry it happened to me too :(

God damn it.

And slimsoxshady, I just realized, why would he specifically drop Em's name if he's talking TO him? A tribute track can very well be talking TO him, so he says "you" and "my friend" etc and not specifically "Eminem".
