How can hip-hop be dead if Wu-Tang is forever?

Isn't he signed to GOOD Music?

He is, but when he was ranting bout his label around the time WZRD dropped he said he was talking about the parent label and he has nothing but love for Kanye.

Ah, makes sense.

I've never liked Universal as a label.

Make a really good song = Radio will play it.
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Interview with Complex.com
Kid Cudi wrote: I don’t do radio shows. That’s not how I want to project my art. It doesn’t make me a bad person. It doesn’t make me a dick. It makes me someone who doesn’t want to do what everyone else is doing to get music out.

Radio would be 10 times better if it was based on what the kids wanted to hear. It’s not about paying for spins. I don’t believe that’s the only way you can achieve success, by being on the radio a whole bunch. Not in 2012. Fuck out of here. Not with the power of the Internet. I’m proving that.

Seems like his statements here pretty much sum up why he can't get on the radio.

It's not the labels fault, it's his. Granted, that whole system is all fucked up, but he can't get mad that it isn't working for him if he doesn't play by the rules. If he doesn't want to do radio interviews, that's fine, but don't expect them to fuck with you if you're snubbing them. It's not fair, but it's also not the fault of the record label.

This isn't like Obie's BET situation, where they wouldn't play his videos because Eminem stopped attending the award shows. This is Kid Cudi refusing to support radio, and then getting upset when they don't support him. I respect the man having artistic standards, but he shouldn't get all pissy when those standards don't translate into radio spins.
