50 Cent - The rapper that attracted most people to Rap ?

50 Cent got me into rap, I exactly remember how.. I was on a family vacation when I was 7 years old (it was in 2005) and we were at the lounge of the hotel we were staying at. And there was music at the lounge with a huge flat screen TV playing the music videos of the songs that's playing.
It was In Da Club by 50 Cent, I liked it so much that when I got back home I just listened to it non-stop, then I looked for other 50 Cent songs, then for other rappers.. and that's how it started.

2pac was probaby the first rapper who attracted that many people to rap. Eminem was the one who attracted the most people I think (one of them is me)

I was already a fan of Em when I was a kid but 50 & Dr Dre are the artists who attracted me to rap a few years later and this is the same for a lot of my friends

In Da Club was the first rap song I ever heard, back when it came out. I was at someone's birthday party at a roller rink.

I remember my Mum bought GRODT because she liked the single and now I look back and I always just think, why didn't she just buy the single? It was the first Hip-Hop album I ever listened to.
And my most haunting memory was when my sister and her friends cornered me at my birthday party chanting "We gon' party like it's yo birthday"

Yeah it was 50 Cent and Eminem. Basically, in Europe, the whole Shady Aftermath camp was huge.

I can vouch for this, it was definitely the case in my country. And other than that, I'll add 2Pac probably. Guys like Jay-Z used to be known as Beyonce's boyfriend, Kanye didn't get well-known until American Boy, and nobody cares for Lil Wayne.

So yeah, in general, if we consider worldwide impact, it's definitely Em and 50 that have introduced the most people to Hip-Hop. At least from my point of view.

But that's just because most of the people here are of the age that they would be first getting into music when 50 Cent and co was huge. You wait five years and ask the people our age that question and it will be all about Lil Wayne.

I disagree. I think my country is a good example, so if you get huge in here, then you're probably huge everywhere, and nobody has got as huge as Em and 50 used to be. Now I'm obviously not around many 13years old's to know what's huge with them, but I don't see that many kids being into Hip-Hop as it was the case with my generation.

In fact, it was Recovery that once again made Em bring in a new group of younglings into it, and I'm considering some of my cousins who now like rap but didn't prior 2010.

I remember the likes of Cam'ron, Nelly, Juelz Santana, Jay Z, Kanye and Murder Inc being pretty big in the UK, too if I remember correctly.

For me? Definitely Eminem, bumped SSLP for soooo long back in the day. Then Dre dropped 2001 and there was no way back But yeah, I remember 50 blowing the fuck up with GRODT. The album is such a classic, still bumping the original cd in my car.
