Forgotten Classics

Postby Mr. Porter » Feb 20th, '13, 02:20

Post songs that you remember liking/loving, but they never seemed to get any traction and became forgotten. I thought of this thread idea after listening to "Naomi" by Dre of Cool & Dre for the first time in years.

http://youtu.be/7T8zDN5ujA4

I remember liking the song a lot, but after a few music video spins it disappeared from the face of the earth. I think it's a great feel-good track.

What other songs do you remember liking that seem to be forgotten?

Not a particular song, but Redman's album Muddy Waters is a fucking classic.
It's funky, clever, funny and charismatic, I've been bumping this ish all day, I don't remember the names of the songs apart from a few but sitting down and listening to it as a whole is dope!

Masta Ace - Disposable Arts
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

For some reason, I immediately thought of Notorious Thugs and You Never Know (by IT)

I have this on vinyl. One of my favorite hip-hop albums of all time.

It's unfortunate that Big Pun passed away so early, he was a true master of his craft.

I can only dream about how many classic albums he would've delivered.

Would probably be in more top 5 talks if he were to be alive.

Capital Punishment shits on just about every rap LP.

The dudes lyricism is astonishing.
I wish I had a vinyl player, that'd be fucking dope.
He had that authentic raw vibe behind him that not many cats possess.
If his catalog was bigger I'd go so far as to say he could've been the greatest.
