Didn't realize that Blu took a huge L a few months ago

I think he would have actually. I mean, look at Nas' career. The dude's been dropping mediocre stuff since It Was Written (with the exception of Life Is Good), but it was because of his debut and his impact that people hold him in such a high regard.

So, with that said, Eminem would have still been considered one of the best if he had one classic (or two, if you're counting SSLP as well), and have the rest of his catalog be pure garbage. Top five at the least.

I'm not sure I would go so far as to say that...

I mean, as a highly successful mainstream artist, the starndards for quality are a little different. It's all about the sheeple repeating the echoes of greatness. When it comes to underground or independent acts like Blu, you should at least be breaking even with your releases. One good for one bad, if the original was a classic, you might get a pass. Otherwise you're just an artist of great potential.

I haven't heard Blu's album yet though, I guess I'll have to check it out.
