Jay-Z Decoded

Postby asid12345678 » Jan 1st, '11, 06:37

well , me being a big time hip-hop , I bought the book and it's really interesting .
I''ll be updating this thread putting up whatever I find interesting so any of you jay-z fans or hip-hop fans in general hopefully like this

Part 1 - One Eye Open

Everywhere I went I'd write . If I was crossing a street with my friends and a rhyme came to me , I'd break out my binder , spread it on a mailbox or lamppost and write the rhyme before I crossed the street . I didn't care if my friends left at the light . I had to get it out . Even back then , I thought I was the best .

OLD JAY-Z LINES
I'm the king of hip-hop/Renewed like Reeboks/Key in the lock/Rhymes as provocative/As long as as I live

I'm not gonna say that I thought I could get rich from rap , but I could clearly see that it was gonna get bigger before it went away . Way bigger.

But for all of Run-DMC's style and showmanship , there was something missing in their songs . Something was missing . How young cats were stepping through the broken glass and into the Caddy .

UPDATING SOON...Just to remind myself , on page no.10 today

Brilliant book. Not only for Jay-Z fans but for hip hop fans in general. But most of all for people who don't understand and/or respect the whole culture, the art and the people behind the music. Oprah was being honest when she said it changed her whole view on hip hop.

Along with Mandela's autobiography and a few others, this is the book I've enjoyed reading the most.

What Kweli said on his Twitter:
Just finished JayZs Decoded. All MCs serious about the CRAFT need to read this. If you caught up in illuminati rumors, u aint serious.

Much better. Not really worth comparing.

Did he say something about Eminem?
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Yeah a bunch of times.

Here's the link to read the book everybody. Your welcome.

http://rapidshare.com/#!download|824tl3 ... .zip|96638

He mentioned a line from Eminem to make a point in one of the chapters, he talked about how when Em was at the peak of his success around TES he still had to wear a bullet vest (Em did). This is when they hooked up to do Moment Of Clarity, for the Black Album. He also mentioned a few times how successful Em was, and measuring himself up to that level of success. He also talked about sales. How when him and 50 were beefing, how Em, G-Unit's first album, and Jay's album all did well sales and reception wise.
