Has to be "Lose Yourself". In terms of a song which hits almost EVERY note... lyrically, musically, vocally... the hook, the concept, the passion, the themes... it totally encapsulates hip-hop.

It's cinematic and 'big' yet poetic and rich, the flow is amazing, the writing is amazing, it really is Em's absolute visible peak in terms of just bringing all the elements together.

"The Way I Am" is fucking incredible too.

Lose Yourself is probably the easiest answer. It's undeniably a classic, it has a big feel to it, and it was an extremely successful single. I do think there are better songs though. Hurt Me Soul is the first thing that comes to mind atm. Incredible song.

I agree that it feels the 'easiest' answer, as in, the most obvious and expected but - that doesn't mean it's not right. I felt that as I said it, but I still feel it' genuinely is... I think a lot of people go out of their way to say rare songs just not to look obvious lmao.

There can't be a best rap song because there are too many layers and aspects that Hip-Hop songs can cover, and it just can't be done in one single song. However, as far as a Hip-Hop song being big, successful, well-known and actually of a high quality, then yes, I do think that Lose Yourself is the greatest Hip-Hop song ever. Number 2 would be Changes by 2Pac.

Yeah I meant easiest as in most obvious and I believe that you genuinely believe that it is the best. It's inarguably a classic and a huge anthem. Very good song.

I do prefer other songs though. Lose Yourself is probably in my top 10 rap songs of all time. Either that or Stan, idk. What I think is the best changes but atm it's Hurt Me Soul. Have you heard it?
