The rest are just butthurt hip hop fan opinions. It's for sure the most retarded thing I ever read on Complex.

50 Cent was much, much bigger though and Best New Artist was deserved. Eminem never won AOTY either.

keep in mind that the grammys are viewed by all types of audiences. as common as rap is on the radio, most people don't actually care for it.

He'll probably get a nomination in that category but I don't see him winning the award because Frank Ocean didn't even win the album of the year. I'm starting to think that having the most acclaimed album is far from enough to win the prize.

IMO, the next grammy will be very interesting for the Rap nominees if the artists release their album before september :flutter:

Good Kid M.A.A.D. City
Eminem
+ the other artists (jay-z ? wtt2 ? kanye ? Drake, Lil Wayne, maybe 50 Cent, but I'm pretty sure that most of them will release their album after September so...)

It's always these unknown indie bands that seem to win AOTY. Arcade Fire wasn't even in the mainstream when they won AOTY, and now who's Mumford & Sons?

they are known on the Rock scene and the album is one of the best selling albums of the year (1,700,000 in 6 months) :y:
Didn't listen to it but I have seen Babel in a lot of year-end lists :-k
