His first 3 albums were fire...then he dropped 808 and that dark twisted fantasy shit and is now being praised as one of the best when i personally think it's his worst work from a lyrical stand point.

You're an idiot. :facepalm

"Kids these days..." = sign you're a moron. How old are you? Doubt over 25. You're one of those losers who leave a comment about Justin Bieber on every youtube vid, right? Literally every generation complains about "kids these days" and the music they like.

Carter 2, widely considered Wayne's best and an arguable classic rap album, is double platinum. Tha Carter, his breakout album when he was still relatively unknown, has sold 800K +.

And how is Kanye related? 808s was great lyrically, it wasn't a rap album. Every song is incredibly meaningful.
"That shit" is only his worst lyrically if you just wanted rhymes and punchlines. I hate this "cop out", but you really must not understand it. MBDTF is loaded with meaning and is by far his best crafted album. Everything doesn't have to be 5 syllable multis and punchlines.

I'm 22. If he put a record out like the carter II now it would never sell like it did then, not to mention that music pirating was not nearly as common as it is now. And yes, it's similar to Kanye's situation. Kanye didn't have nearly as much mainstream recognition until he put out 808. It was rare for his music to make it off the rap stations. I don't think Wayne had the recognition either until the carter III, which IMO was the down hill point for him lyrically.

These are just my opinions though, no need to get bent out of shape and start name calling. I take notice that different areas have different results also. What my neighborhood was doing could be totally different than yours. I just recall listening to Kanye West and Wayne before white people thought they were cool :p

and BTW i think Justin Bieber is a talented kid, I respect what he does even though i don't feel his stuff. I respect Talent. Most these kids coming out lack talent.

FreeSpeech you should join SL, they share your musical taste alot more than most people on TR. Kanye/Jay Z/J Cole/Jay Electronica are the kind of artists they consider to be the best on there as opposed to underground punchline rappers that people on here like.
