Actually no it's not easy to switch-up flows or have perfectly on-point rhythm and be great in a technical sense, evidenced by the plethora of shit rappers.

At no point did I praise her content.

But being a good rapper, in a technical sense... can still be the case, regardless of content. And technically speaking, she is good. She is on-point rhythmically, she can flow well, she can switch-up well, she has charisma and most of all, she's a personality on the mic.

Which to me is an important aspect.

I'm fans of personalities. And I'm not even a Nicki fan, but she has the potential to be good, because of this. This is part the reason Em and Kanye in particular are so good, they bring out their true personalities on the mic, they're energetic, they have passion... a lot of rappers are so boring.

Her having bad content or ideas makes her a bad artist. Just like a rock band can have a great guitarist or even great technical ability as a whole and still make shit songs, or have shit content.

I'm not saying she's a great artist, but she has potential, absolutely.

And she is not the female version of Weezy, no way. Lil Wayne can't rap. Nicki can rap. Lil Wayne talks, has huge gaps in his flows, he just... can't rap. So many rappers now just can't fucking rap, they don't have tight flows, energy, they don't sound like rappers, they don't flowwwww.

Nicki can rap.

This is the separation I don't see many make.

There's plenty of examples of great rappers with shit content.

And there's also examples of average or just good rappers with great content (Kanye). Kanye is actually really good but, he's not like... he improves, and his flows aren't always as tight as they can be but, he comes out with a lot of great lines, and comes up with great content.

The funny thing is most of the actual true unrehearsed (off the head) freestyle raps sounds better and make more sense then a written thought out Nicki Minaj verse.

I can tell you all right now that Nicki Minaj new Album will be beyond WACK.... Look at her first 2 lead singles "Stupid Hoe" and "Roman holiday"... I just cant imagine how much worse it can possibly get....
