Man, I don't know. I expected more from a F&L 2 single tbh. I thought the song will be the highlight of my day, couldn't wait to wake up for it and it kinda depressed me for a minute, lol. I had Around My Way on repeat for 4 hours and I only heard this one a couple of times. I hope the rest of the album won't be like this. I mean, I'm pretty sure it won't be but

Yeah I agree, while the concept is awesome, the execution of this track ain't got shit on Around My Way, mainly cause of Lupe's flow and delivery, and I don't know if it's only me but I feel like this track was mixed with fuckin' Audacity.

I don't know what to say about this tbh. The concept is awesome and most of the time it's executed greatly, the beat fits with the song because it's probably Lupe's take on a modern, popular and a generic beat or perhaps an ironical parody of what people listen to, to go along with his impressions of rap tracks and shit (Might be reaching) but it fits the song, Lupe's flow on the first verse was awful honestly he sounded off beat, but he came through in the 2nd verse and the 3rd verse, the hook is pretty catchy and I love it. I think Lupe pulled a Lil B with this track, the scream at the end "I'm killin' these bitcheees" makes it clearer.

F&L2 is a double disc, this is probably an experimental track though, the album will definitely not sound like this, it's probably the IDWCRN of F&L2, oh and watch this blow up.

I agree with this post. Except I don't love it, I think it's okay after the first verse. I don't think this will reflect the whole album like you said. I do kinda like the beat, I think it goes with the song and its concept. Delivery is bad is all that's really wrong with it.

Don't like the beat, don't like the delivery but love the concept. Not a bad song but expected more from Lupe, epically for a second single.

I think his delivery was intentional (well obviously looking at his other songs) to imitate and possibly mock current mainstream rappers.

Ehm, I had expected something much better but I appreciate his attempt at making something different lyrically. I don't know if he is trying to make fun of lame radio songs but the beat just plain sucks. Chorus is even worse.

He sounded so incredibly fresh and hungry on Around my way but doesn't even sound interested on this one.

This definitely doesn't hold a candle to 2pac's Keep ya head up and Lowkey's Something wonderful.
