If you can listen to an album all the way without skipping anything, it makes it good/great in your opinion, not a classic.

So Recovery IS a classic, but Reasonable Doubt is only debatable? And Blueprint, The Black Album, and American Gangster are out of the question? Lollll ok.

I told you why Recovery is a classic to me simply cos i listen to it 2 years after it came out and can play it all the way through from top to bottom not skipping a song at all. I didn't like the content on Reasonable Doubt but it was Jay at his best and it can be argued as a near classic while some think it's a classic. Told you why i don't think Blueprint is no here near a classic to me because of it's low replay value valu and poor songs. Black album same issue as far as low replay value and not being able to listen to and enjoy either albums years after they came out. American Gangster to me is the most forgettable outta all of those Jay albums as far as replay value, content and hooks.

The highs on Recovery like Going Through Changes, Not Afraid, Spacebound, Conderella Man, You're Never Over, Talkin 2 Myself, 25 To Life as far as content, being able to relate to the songs, overall subject matter, depth, hook writting etc were better than the best songs on The Blueprint and Black album to me.

I remember listening to The Eminem Show in 2002 and a few dickheads at my school saying "Nah come on bro, Eminem's corny. You should listen to Tupac and Canibus." Then I listened to "Ambitionz As A Ridah," trying desperately to love it. My foolish, impressionable mind fell for all the hype at first. "GOAT rapper! He's such a poet! Wayyyy better than Eminem!! So metaphorical and shit."

Not to say he wasn't poetic at times...but he's no way near being the greatest.

It's the opposite in my experience as far as Pac and Em fans because 2pac and Eminem have similar songs, songs with a similar style, personal message, emotion, a lotta similar topics songs like Rock Bottom, If I Had, Going Through Changes, When I'm Gone, Beautiful, Dear Mama, Changes, Brendas Got A Baby, Pain etc being similar both 2pac and Eminem fans appreciate both rappers songs of this nature now they might relate to 1 Rapper more than the other but they certaintly appreciate songs like this from both. Now a Pac fan may not like a song like My Name Is though which is understandable but will certaintly appreciate and enjoy Rock Bottom. Where as an Em fan may not enjoy Ambitionz As A Ridah but will appreciate Changes.

Verses sound like they were written by Wayne on a bad day lol, not to mention the beat is bad and so is the hook.

Mosh, Square Dance, White America and We As Americans are Songs touching on social aspects and politics like Changes maybe not the race element but still a political message in a similar way for the poorer class. how did they not rap about the same topics? both covered experiences like poverty, their mothers drug addiction, welfare, having no father, being raised in a lower class enviroment etc. How are their styles not similar when both were very emotionally and personal driven?

Just because they've had emotional songs doesn't make them the same, hell! If it was about emotional songs, then rappers are similar to each other.
There literally hundreds of rappers that touched the same topics Em and Pac have touched, just because these two are the biggest and most popular ones doesn't make them similar to each other at all.

Well not just the topics but way they could both make listeners relate and support their product in a way another Rapper speaking on exactly the same topic such as poverty and welfare let's say for example Talib Kweli couldn't reach and make the masses relate and feel the emotion like 2pac and Eminem. But the fundementals of the similarities mainly being as stated the topics they covered, the emotion they expressed while doing this but also greatly the fact they were both great Song Writers.

Some interesting choices tbh. You prefer Graduation over CD and LR? I've always seen that as his weakest album.

Also no RD or AG for Jay and Aquemini/ATLiens for Outkast. Agreed on Hell Hath No Fury though.

^You're like a parody of a generic hip-hop fan.

Anyway, I don't really know what the definition of 'classic' is so these are just artists with more than one album I regularly listen to.

Eminem - SSLP, MMLP, TES
Nas - Illmatic, It Was Written, God's Son
Jay-Z - RD, Blueprint, Black Album
OutKast - Aquemini, Stankonia
Masta Ace - A Long Hot Summer, Disposable Arts
Talib Kweli - Quality, Beautiful Struggle
The Roots - Game Theory, How I Got Over

On 2Pac - he's got some good songs, but not one stand out album. Liberal commentators who consistently praise him to fit in are so cringeworthy.
