I lose a certain amount of respect for anyone who believes in God.

To be perfectly honest.

He's developing that 'religious arrogance' as I like to call it, where he acts like he knows God exists, when he cannot possible know, and looks down on everyone who doesn't.

I'm losing interest in him, tbh.

That's one of the most ridiculous things i've ever read. People who are atheist claim to be so open minded then they go and say shit like this and as far as arrogance from people i've encountered it's the opposite. Take a guy like Hitchens for example, the guy was one of the most arrogant pseudo-intellectual assholes that ever lived. As far as Hopsin though I don't really care if he's religious or he's not. I listen to music for quality and to be entertained not for spiritual guidance. If you are comfortable with your belief or non-belief then it shouldn't bother you.

Kendrick had a fucking prayer skit in his album but never gets labeled a Christian rapper.

I get why people are worried about it. The thing is, we all watched his transformation, and saw the enthusiasm he had for his new beliefs posted ever couple days on Facebook. We saw him say he didn't want atheists listening to his music (a comment he later admitted was ridiculous), and we haven't heard much from him creatively, so our minds can't help but lock onto the only form of contact he's had with us.

I don't care that he's a Christian, because he's creative. Creative artists don't box themselves in with one topic and mindset, because frankly, that's not what we are. A creative person takes what they see, think, and feel, and then they turn it into music reflecting that. Unless all you think about is God all day long, then your music isn't going to sound like a sermon. Hopsin is deeper than that, and I think he'll continue making good music.

On the note about believing in God...I don't lose respect for someone that does, though I do understand how some could. I do, however, have trouble respecting someone that holds the dogma of whatever their religion is as the standard others should live by. That bothers me. Unless Hopsin goes that route, I think we'll be fine.
