^ Nope. But is there really a reason to make a thread about it? No

i dont hate lil wayne. i just dont care for him. i'm nuetral. big difference.

people like hopsin and his stans need to bash lil wayne constantly to validate themselves.

wayne can be decent when he wants to be , but he also puts out lazy shit cause he can.

keep in mind though that different ppl listen to rap for different reasons.

some people dont want a rap thats really fast, lyrical, hardcore and thought provoking.

some ppl just want a rap style thats fun, carefree, more relaxed, with some strange puns.

wayne isn't an excellent rapper, and he tries his hand at things he isn't good at, but in the end, he's just having with it and getting high too. and thats what his fans want though.

Yes if a member chooses to he or she can...No where on TR does it say a thread is not aloud if you dislike an artist :facepalm

I didn't say you couldn't lol, I said that there is no reason. But I see your point

That's all fine and dandy, but why do you automatically assume you either have to produce pieces of shit like Lil Wayne does or something lyrical and hardcore like Slaughterhouse or Tech N9ne?

Fun, carefree, more relaxed with strange puns? That kind of reminds me of '98 - '99 Em and he was the farthest thing from being as abysmal as Wayne.

This guy's a joke. I'm all for different opinions and tastes in rap, but people actually consider this guy one of the greatest. No wonder non-rap listeners hate rap, this guy has been the poster child for a good five strong fuckin' years.

He became trash but as you said, people actually considered this guy as one of the greatest during the carter 2 era (2005) and IMO, he really was the best at that time.

Never got why Lil Wayne's Carter II and back got praised so much. His rhyme scheme was like ABAB, and he still had that New Orleans accent a little bit. 2008-09 was Wayne's best year

Well, when Eminem retired and Jay-Z "atayaed" , there was an absence in hiphop that Lil Wayne filled.

If all that southern rap in 03-04 wasn't a foreshadow of Wayne, then what was?

Maybe because everybody doesn't consider the rhyme scheme as the most important part in Rap. Some people prefer the lyrical aspect and some other people prefer the technical aspect of rap.
Talking about lyrics and technic, lol we’ve done this thread before but nobody has ever really agreed on anything so it's pretty useless to claim that rhyming is part of lyricism... might be true, might be wrong.

A lot of people talked about The Carter II as a classic and people looked at Weezy in a different light. The album showed his growth as an artist... It also showed his creativity and originality. It was a totally different sound, it was something really new and the production was crazy as fuck.
Some people listen to some singers just because of their voice and it was basically the same for Lil wayne, his voice was really interesting back in the days.
For me, it's probably the only timeless album wayne has under his belt

Well, I agree.
I think there are more bad songs from him than good songs :coffee:

The thing is that of course Wayne isn't one of the "best".. But he's not the worst either. There are tons of rappers that's worse than Weezy. He's is always the one getting bashed tho :coffee:

Lil Wayne was a great rapper. Tie My Hands, Dontgetit, Georgia…Bush. These are all great songs from Wayne's prime, so it's not exactly fair to call him a completely shit rapper.

also, I might have to add that some of his verses from his prime are slightly better than some of Eminem's recent verses.
