Well, she said that she could write the verses Earl wrote and you said no she couldn't. She didn't say she could write it better. And then she took a stab at with with something quickly written. I do think replying "the fuck kinda shit is that?" and then Aone10 just saying that "steaming pile of Hippopotamus shit that you wrote FAILS MISERABLY" is much more touchy than "Yeah, I can write it, it's not difficult. Earl's not too great." lol

LOL exactly. And I'd like to hear what exactly is wrong with mine? Same 3 or 4 syllable rhyme schemes, same topics as Earl, same hidden meanings.

It was a paraphrase to show that she was much more casual and definitely not emotional over it.
Kathy wrote:Oh? Did this in ten minutes, it's easy. Obviously his verses probably have alittle more thought in them since it's his profession, but it isn't very hard.

I guess that's unfair since I made direct quotes of you and Aone but yeah, you should be able to see my point.

Aone10 wrote:We aren't touchy or offended, we're just poking fun at someone thinking they can write Earl's verses. She attempted to write an Earl type of verse, and it sounds just like that.... like she TRIED, but it is nowhere near as good.

Sure, Earl uses multis and plays around with words, but it's not like he's spilling out non-senscial lyrics...and quite frankly, he's pretty good at it. Sure, anyone can adopt that type of writing style, but how good you are at it counts.

He reminds me of an MF Doom/Eminem mixture. Dopest member of Odd Future imo.

Yeah, I love Earl and all and I'm not agreeing with Kathy that the song sucks. If you say you were just poking fun, you were of course, it definitely just seemed like you guys cared way more than you should and it probably would have lead to some sort of flaming because she doesn't agree with you. Which would be dumb, but it happens all the time. To note, she didn't say he spilled out non-sensical lyrics.

He's good at rhyming, and he can be clever. But as an overall artist? He's not good. His voice/delivery sounds amateur, his hooks are mediocre to nonexistant, and his beat selection is OK at best and not remotely exciting. His verse on Channel Orange was a lowpoint on an amazing album, and paled compared to Andre's. For how much people hate on Drake, he has way more meaningful songs. Yes, Earl sometimes has underlying meaning in some of his songs, but most are just fairly random lines of "I'm bad ooooh" lyrics. And yes, I do knwo the "hidden meanings", I read rap genius for all his songs. If he wrote the lyrics I did, people would be talking about how the whole verse was an ode to going back to his old ways. People read crazy into his lines and try to get deeper meaning out of them.

And for what it's worth, I was kind of a fan of Earl when I heard AssMilk years ago before he was widely known, and his other material just doesn't compare.

No, his delivery for his verse on Channel ORANGE was a low point. The verse itself is great. For someone that claims to check up his shit on Rap Genius, I'm surprised you missed his Super Rich Kids verse and completely avoided his incredible use of assonance throughout the entire verse.

And, how about instead of trying to argue why Earl is such a terrible artist, you throw us some objective facts instead of the generic, "His beats suck. So does his delivery. I'm so educated on rap because I make these typical statements."

I find it funny when people complain about other rappers having such stripped-down beats, when the majority - if not all - of the beats Eminem rapped on for his first three albums, were all stripped-down and simple.
