And even things like Thrift Shop have incredibly meaningful lyrics when it comes to trash talking industries of all sorts

^Wing$ is just mindblowingly passionate. The way he spits every verse always leaves me in awe. Make the Money is another one too. And Neon Cathedral is probably one of my favorite songs of all time tbfh

Thrift Shop is the shit. Fuck haters. "50 dollars for a T shirt? That's just some ignorant bitch shit. I call that getting swindled and pimped. I call that getting TRICKED BY A BUSINESS.

He has the same antimaterialsm attitude on all of his tracks and i love it

His FIRST album, 2005's Language of my World IS GOAT material... Every time I listen to it I lose faith in hip-hop... how could something so golden go unnoticed. The Heist is amazing, but Mack's lyricism on his 2005 album is just fucking incredible. The whole thing is on Youtube if anyone wants to listen, get the one with the clickable track times. :)

And he probably used half an hour in the middle of it all, just to shoutout everyone who was with him (20+ random people).

But his performance was great though.

I think he's still just getting used to the fame lol.

Did you know every beat on that album was made with NO samples, completely independently, and with LIVE instrumentation?

and Macklemore isn't indie, Warner Bros does his distribution and promotion and he had radio deals to play his singles.

Why rapper Macklemore’s indie rise is a simple white lie

If you can honestly say Macklemore doesn't make hip-hop because of who he writes songs for then you missed the most epic part of Eminem's success...

I've never heard a song of his I liked. The first time I heard thrift shop I just thought it was just corny fucking garbage for white people.

But hes a rapper and I don't understand why he ain't taken seriously in rap music.
