Yeah, you can hate or dislike Hopsin but saying he's wack is weird. Alm also acting like Hopsin is wack while he was anticipating RAW like a mofucka and loved it.

Maybe the replay value isnt great, but the facts are there: you loved him.

thafuck why am i talking about alm, tho. this was just an example btw. But Hopsin isnt wack.

I dislike people like you. You think EVERYONE from the 90's was a hard-ass that literally never gave a fuck. Cube's right, there were "Lil B's" and "Soulja Boy's" back in the 90's, people just did not have the same easy access to them.

And quit overrating Hopsin, dude is such garbage I don't understand how you can think he's good.

He's highly overrated on here and holds little entertainment value. He can rap very well (at times.. he has some odd placed rhymes and weird word choosings), but I really can't listen to his music.

bigray wrote:
1. Please count the 100 horrible rappers. I'd love to see a list. <--Was an expression and if you have not noticed how many wack rappers have been out since 2005 to today than ur ears need cleaning or ur not a fan of Rap period! :n:

2. Assuming that about people not knowing Cee-Lo is plain silly. He had a huge single two years ago and was everywhere. Dude there have been many people in forums and outside of forums who have no clue that Cee Lo is from Goodie Mob and saying who is this pop star and they cant believe SH collabed with him, if you go listen to a recent interview with Royce he addressed that as well....

3. Lil B and Soulja Boy don't take themselves seriously. Not sure why people always pick them out and bash them. News alert, everyone. They know they aren't very good rappers. Obviously they MUST know they are complete shit but again its the little kids and teenagers that bump there music and say they are dope...this 1 dude on my FB and including all his friends said SB destroyed Hopsin on that diss record. I also hear other rappers try to sound like them as well even though they are not known. Again in the 90's there were no rappers at all with that sound ort that look...like come on you think you would see a gangter in Compton wearing skinny Jeans or a pink Banadana..LOL

4. Hopsin is wack. Throw him in your list. <---- THIS IS INVALID AND BASED ON THIS ANSWER HOW CAN I TAKE U SERIOUS NOW??? :facepalm

5. Here's your five rappers: MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Snow, Kriss Kross, Brian Green. And none of them were even near a level of some guys you listed. They couldn't hold Rick Ross or Lil Wayne's jockstrap.
I don't get why you listened those 5 rappers? So you pick the bottom rappers from the 90's and they go against the so called great ones of today? lol BTW: Snow was a mixture between Rap/Reggae than he did some rock shit.

The content has changed and I clearly stated that. But the genre has terrible rappers and good rappers. Like always. No this is wrong the Genre never had even CLOSE to the terrible rappers as today..why do I know this for a FACT? I lived in the 90's and am living now and I can not recall any time anyone said Rappers are trash, what they rapping about, why they dressed like fags. Today its everywhere and it is well known that RAP is terrible right now...Rappers have come out and said this as well , Jon Connor, Lupe, Hopsin so many more. Every song sounds the fucking same today its un believable. I don't even know if 2Chainz is Lil Wayne they look identical and Tyga sounds like Wayne too.

this song is a great example of my statement above, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWYr5KXFcKw

Most of the stuff people dislike in the genre of hip-hop isn't technically even hip-hop, mostly Young Money's stuff. Young Money is garbage. Pure garbage. If you take them out of the picture, hip-hop's popularity lays on some pretty steady shoulders. Jay-Z, Kanye, Eminem, Nas. - I agree with you that people dislike in the genre of hip-hop isn't technically even hip-hop, so we can make a new Genre called HIP POP and throw them all in there. Oh and Kanye's name should NEVER be next to EM n NAS :n: He is not even that good, he is a commercial rapper and my opinion will never change about Kanye...

And many of the artists on Young Money have talent(Drake and Lil Wayne CAN rap). And that's where hip-hop has changed. It's popular now. These artists sell a lyrical song for a song about Starships because they know what will sell. And I do not blame them. One bit. Yes Drake is not Rap he is R & B and for anyone to call him rap is messed up, since when does a rapper smile after a punchline? I guess in 2012 they do  In the 90's never! You also say Young Money is Garbage , pure garbage but you also say they can rap? that makes zero sense to me..they are both fucking garbage and need to stay away from Rap!

Oh and you are saying that music in the 90's was on the radio??? Dude not where I am from I had to go and buy all the albums or find an underground radio station that played hip hop or good old Napster, anyway we wont agree on this at all the way I see it, I have my opinion and you have urs. Thanks for taking time to respond to my posts appreciate ur opinions but I dont Agree with you.

I'm starting from the bottom of your post and reading up, so it's going to be in reverse of your post.

1. You state the music wasn't on the radio... Yet, you somehow found them on an underground radio station. Yeah, those stations exist today. I was in New York and Schoolboy Q was on the radio very often. Radioplay is radioplay.

2. Young Money makes garbage music currently. But Lil Wayne and Drake have proven on multiple occassions that they have the passion and skill to mold good verses and good overall recordings.

3. Lupe and Hopsin whine 24/7. Of course they say that stuff about hip-hop. I love Jon Connor, so I won't go there. But those two seem to complain about everything. Why doesn't Dre bitch about the current music instead of embracing it?

4. You said you couldn't name five terrible rappers from the 90's. So I did. And who calls Lil Wayne and Rick Ross the greats of this current standard industry? If anyone does, they're plain retarded. People also dressed like Vanilla Ice in the 90's. It just made them retards. Not listeners with valid opinions that are worth getting worked up about.

5. My Hopsin response is above.

6. There weren't any rappers with Lil B's sound or look, sure. But there were plenty in the 90's that were worse with worse beats. I promise you. Lil B is entertaining and has amazing beats. Rappers who never made it in the 90's probably couldn't accomplish that and it goes the same way today. He's famous because he's wacky and hilarious.

7. Once again, those people who said that about Cee-Lo shouldn't be taken serious and you shouldn't be complaining about people that are literally that clueless.

I'll go ahead and turn the tables. The only thing more annoying than someone who worships the mainstream map of today are those who think it stands for hip-hop and that people that love Nicki Minaj should be taken serious enough to complain about. Not taking shots at you. Just like discussing this. I have many friends who I've been through this with because they feel the same way you do.

Well, if he can rap very well (agree about some odd rhymes, but I think a lot of rappers do that) then he's not "wack" his music just isn't for you. I know what you mean though, but saying he's a terrible rapper or something might be going too far you know?
We're talking about someone who can flow, who has a decent delivery (at least) and who can rhyme. Wack or terrible to me is Bizarre, Wayne now or Chief Kieef or whatever.

Well, his beats aren't very good either doe. I do enjoy a song or two here and there (mainly Sag My Pants).

I see where you're coming from. I hate him mostly because his name is brought up in every thread on here haha.. so I like seeing what people say when I reply with calling him wack.

1. You state the music wasn't on the radio... Yet, you somehow found them on an underground radio station. Yeah, those stations exist today. I was in New York and Schoolboy Q was on the radio very often. Radioplay is radioplay. No Joke to this day 2012 the city I am from in Canada still does not play Rap/Hip Hop music at all on the radio :n: So from like 92 - 99 lets say, you literally had to wait or stay up on Friday or Saturday nights from 2 Am till 4am to listen to Rap music and the only people who stayed up that late were people who like to party. So where I am from Rap was not exposed much.

2. Young Money makes garbage music currently. But Lil Wayne and Drake have proven on multiple occassions that they have the passion and skill to mold good verses and good overall recordings.
So why don't they keep up and make good music since you say that Lil Wayne and Drake have proven on multiple occassions that they have the passion and skill to mold good verses and good overall recordings. Its like if you have the passion and skill for something why don't you put 100% in it all the time. If you gonna play in the NHL, NBA or NFL you have to give it 100 all the time, same with Rap.

3. Lupe and Hopsin whine 24/7. Of course they say that stuff about hip-hop. I love Jon Connor, so I won't go there. But those two seem to complain about everything. Why doesn't Dre bitch about the current music instead of embracing it? I see where ur coming from cuz not everyone will like Hopsin or Lupe and may find them to repetitive and annoying. I guess Dre is almost 50 now and at that age it must be different, I think he is more about money now and wants to make more and more.

What I meant is really Terrible, Atrocious. MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Snow, Kriss Kross were not as bad as u make them, yes Vanical Ice was Awful but Snow was great man, he had great talent, a white dude doing Reggare was dope! He collebed with Buju Bonton and Beanie Man and sounded great! I have no clue who Brian Green is :confusion: Keep in mind I was like 12 listening to Kriss Kross and same as M.C. Hammer.

5. My Hopsin response is above. <---Still invalid

But name the ones that are worse than Lil B? Lil B is entertaining?? Maybe to a human who is a little on the slow side.

7. Once again, those people who said that about Cee-Lo shouldn't be taken serious and you shouldn't be complaining about people that are literally that clueless. U R right but I am just using that as an example.

Nothing about Lil B is slow except for people who hate him because they take him seriously. He's capitalized on the Internet in ways that weren't even imagined and he did it at such a successful rate that no one thought was attainable. The guy turned himself into a meme. Think about that lol. How can you hate someone who tries to spread a positive message and just has fun with the genre?

Lil Wayne and Drake don't make great music all of the time because that takes time, creativity, and imagination. Why do that when Lollipop will get your album to sell a milli( :shifty: )? Lil Wayne was once pretty consistent. Was never an amazing lyricist but still made hot music. That comes at a very inconsistent rate now. And most Drake haters and people that think he's naturally just a singing pussy have never heard this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRMiySr8xIg

I do notice that people older than me that like hip-hop usually have the same view you do. It's just kind of like a political stance between liberals and conservatives. It's just a view that will never be resolved, but gets debated over and over. However, many people my age don't even agree with me most of the time because so many people live on hip-hop's past. Yeah, Illmatic was amazing and so was Black On Both Sides, It Takes A Nation, AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, etc. But how is it that the most notable and highly regarded albums come from the same age? Is that really possible? Or is it just years of people refusing to let go of the old sound and everyone thinks that that sound is the way it should be... when hip-hop was built on differing sounds and trying something new?
