I love this kind of threads. People will do their best not to have Eminem on their list because that`s gangsta and tough on an Eminem forum. Browsed quickly through this thread and didn`t noticed that yet but it will happen. It always does.
I make a list and I don`t put Eminem but I put Hopsin or Kendrick or DZK or some other underground MC (I like Hopsin, only listened a few Kendrick songs-he is good, he could get big and I like DZK-just using them as an example) that has potential and that could be big and make an impact in the rap game but they still didn`t. And than i bash everybody that says something about my list and call everybody a Stan and a dickryder.
We are talking about TOP 10 RAPPERS EVER. So, not YOUR TOP TEN EVER, but THE top ten ever. And that list must have Pac, Eminem, Big and Jay Z. Those 4 are a must, you can pick the other 6. Maybe Nas should be a must too. When you say rap people will think about those guys. You don`t have to like them, but those guys define rap.
I don`t like Jay that much, but he is one of the best ever. There is something about him that I dont like but I can`t deny his greatness. Same goes for Biggie. I can`t make a list without them. Maybe in 10 years Kendrick will be one of those guys, who knows.
You can`t not have Eminem on the top 10 list because he is top 10, whether you like it or not.
For example, i love Blake Griffin, i love to watch him play. If you put a fucking building in front of the basket Blake will dunk right into the building`s face. But I can`t say he is top 10 player ever. He is not Kobe, Mike or Magic.

But when you say top 10... to me that's top 10 BEST.

BEST RAPPER. Having impact doesn't make you good.

Lil Wayne has had impact, Nsync had a huge impact; Paris Hilton is really famous too, what's that worth? Mass popularity or exposure, or 'impact' isn't a reliable judgement of quality.

Forget sales, or impact. Let's talk rap. We're not talking top 10 most famous rappers.
