Yeah, it's iTunes-exclusive for a while, then Best Buy gets it for two weeks, then everyone else.

No, it's not. I mean, sucks for the small stores but business is business. This is the only way the could keep it from leaking, and it hasn't. I can't remember the last time a big (HUGE) profile album didn't leak.

That cover deserves a day one physical release. End of.

I think we might be seeing a lot more of this "i-tunes exclusive" strategy from record labels in the future. Seems like it could combat the leaks. The decision to release digitally before CD marks a major shift in music consumption which gives them back the power. And tbh I wouldnt be surprised if 20 years down the line CD's became obsolete and everything became digital.
