Lupe's Lu Myself is the reason why Marshall ended up in the hospital, and he still doesn't have the guts to listen to Failure. His mind can take so much, don't push it. With that being said, Recovery sucks.

Recovery doesn't suck. It's not classic but it doesn't suck in my opinion, Carter IV sucks, 2Chainz's album sucks, but Recovery is an okay album.

Lu Myself was dope as fuck, really he came close to Em. but no one could make a better version of LY.

On a serious note, I agree with you.

This must be a joke thread right? These albums are in different tiers. Recovery was a good album. Not great but not bad by any means. Food and Liquor is a classic in every sense of the word beating out Recovery very soundly in almost every category. Tbh I just think this thread is an attempt to expose all the the biased Stans who would vote for Recovery just because they like Em and probably have not even listened to F&L.

If you haven't listened to F&L I urge you to. Not once or a few times but enough to times to fully understand the beautiful masterpiece that it is.

For the record, I think F&L is better than Recovery in every conceivable way. The purpose of this thread was not only to see which album Eminem fans/Stans think is better, but to see if anyone could justify why they think Recovery is the better album.

I like Recovery better, but that's probably because Eminem is my favorite rapper. If he wasn't it would probably be Food & Liquor. I just prefer Em's music to Lupe's.

Accor specifically stated "better" not "prefer". People (and I'm not calling anyone out) need to make the difference between best and favorite. You may personally like Encore more than Illmatic, but is it a better album? Of course fucking not. Arenas is my favorite player that doesn't make him better than Jordan or Lebron, Vin Diesel is my favorite actor that doesn't make him better than Tom Hanks.

This is the point that I've been trying to get across to people for years.

No kidding, but it's never that easy.

No need to be sarcastic, and yeah I know it's harder with music but it seems that some people don't even try to be objective.

Earlier today while I was at school this thread popped up in my head and I was thinking about it for a bit. At first, I was going with Recovery, and I was even going to post Recovery as my answer just now, but the second I got home I turned on Food & Liquor and listened...

Now, I'm not Lupe's biggest fan, in fact I hadn't listened to Food & Liquor in a while, but this album just blew me away. It still sounds fresh. The production on this album is fantastic, and the sample used for Daydreamin' is just :y:

However, while listening to the album I was still a bit indecisive...until I hit "The Emperor's Soundtrack". This song has to be better than most of Recovery.

Food & Liquor for me. :y:

I don't really understand how you become a "die hard" fan of someone. Like, Lupe released 2 of my favourite rap albums of all time but I have no problem saying his music is bad right now. Same with Jay-Z, he's one of my favourite rappers but I can admit that he's inconsistent as hell and BP3 was very, very average.

It seems like die hard's/stans tell themselves that something is good even if it's not, until the artist/Eminem releases something good again. Just so they can assure themselves that he hasn't fallen off or something. It's weird lol.
