Yeah I wasn't really into him that much at first (outside of like half of By The Throat) but the more I wrote and the more I learned about Hip-Hop through creating it the more I realized Eyedea's genius. His writing is just incredible.

It's definitely the "cool" thing to like at the moment. But also he is very good - so people can justify why they "jumped on the wagon".

Give it a month, the hate will rise.

Luckily, you guys all have the fact that he was a talented artist on your side.

Sigh. The avatar/sig reference was just a visualization of my 'notation'. Eyedea seem to be "the" artist on TRshady right now. He wasn't - to the same extent - a month ago. If you've followed the Hiphop-domain section for these past weeks, you will have noticed that a lot of discussion has been taken place regarding Eyedea. And as far as I know, there haven't been any new groundbreaking material released under this period.

If you want to get nit-picky, though, who said a 'bunch' must equal more than 5, btw? AND, an increase from 1 to 4, is a 400% increase.

Word. I honestly had no clue that there were this many Eyedea fans on here but it's pretty awesome that there is. I see a few fans of Eyedea on other hip-hop forums, but the discussions never really take off like it has here.

Was bumping E&A earlier this morning. I've said this a few times already, not sure if I have on here, but "Now" has such a great sound to it. Everything about that song I just... love. :flutter:

I was referring more to the comments after your post, talking about how people opened their mind, or that eyedea is the cool thing to like, when in reality all that discussion you see is the same 4 or 5 posters making threads and arguing with each other-

"Now" is one of the best aesthetically sounding Eyedea songs.

Lol, does it really matter if people are just hopping on a bandwagon? At least they're enjoying the music.

I could sit and look up random unreleased Eyedea verses all day. He had so much to say and every verse is just as deep as the last.

His later verses are some of the darkest, saddest songs I've ever heard though. I wonder what happened to him.

He isn't dead?

Can you post some of your favorite Eyedea songs? I listened to the one you posted of him at like 13 and although it was amazing for a 13 year old I wouldn't place the song even in my top 25.

I also watched a bunch of his battles and he reused lines. Every fucking battle he would mention the dudes bad breath :coffee:

I don't think he's every re-used a line other than filler

Are you saying I'm mistaken or that the lines I'm referring to are filler?
I really wish I remember what battles they were, they were at a competition and they were 1 year apart. But yeah he recycled a line or two.

I'll check those songs out later tonight, thanks :y:
