This wasn't very good at all.
My problem with Drake (aside from just not caring for his music) is that nothing about the man seems authentic. He's a guy manufacturing a product that people will buy and he can get rich off of. That's great, there's nothing wrong with that...if you're making shoes. Or mousetraps...or fucking cheeseburgers.
But if you call yourself an artist? If you can seriously talk about "your work" like it's a serious artistic endeavor, or a true representation of yourself...then you can't have the above mindset. There's nothing wrong with being adaptable, but do it in a sincere way. To hear Drake talk about "Starting From The Bottom", and speaking about being "hungry" kind of irritates me. Beyond that, his style doesn't seem to change in a natural way, an evolutionary manner. It seems to alter based on what he thinks will sell, period.
Good for him. Good for people that listen to him and like his music. I don't though, and I think I might dislike this song more than anything I've ever heard from him.
