Well, no. I understand coming out of the closet gave him a huge popularity increase, so I guess you're right. I got Nostalgia Ultra (classic indeed) when it came out, but I didn't really follow Frank until channel ORANGE.

The man is doing a fucking great job atm, having more and more buzz since his first mixtapes and he didn't reach a limit (still, he's an hip hop artist but he has pop features and the community isn't even afraid to listen to him with lady gaga or other artists so ...)
other great rappers called him the king, he's respected by them and by his fans... he has more and more fans every week, as we usually say : "wait and see"

Why did Lady GaGa's count when she put her album for 99 cents?

they changed their rules because of her and even if she counted, she has sold more physical copies in its first week than 90 % of the other artists
Just look at her previous albums, or her sales in other countries, she didn't have to sell cheap copies to be #1
