@Venom, not everyone can have punchlines like Possessed. He's good and he definitely don't sucks.

Who cares who I'm defending doesn't change the fact that they were shitty, and I can't believe you couldn't tell I was joking.

Not saying everyone does, just saying that since this is a discussion about best punchline MCs he's not worthy of being mentioned if his shit is average at best. Diabolic, Celph Titled, Royce & Crooked I are all way better gun punchline rappers than him.

Sure, he's not as good as the best but saying he sucks (putting him next to Lil Wayne or Nicki Minaj) is blasphemy. All I'm saying is that he's good. Just good.

No, he's on the same tier as Lil Wayne and Eminem and arguably as bad as them when he does shitty lines too, like the ones I referenced.

First of all, Eminem is better than Lil Wayne (current).

Every rapper has some shitty lines. The problem starts when they become consistent in your raps. Plus, the other side of the pillow line isn't as bad as you make it out to be.

In terms of overall rapping, yeah I guess, but in terms of punchlines than no, they're both atrocious at it. And it always disrupts the flow of their songs when they try to incorparate it into their verses, that's another thing a good punchline can't just be "clever" it has to flow seamlessly into the verse, and Eminem and Lil wayne can't do that.

And yeah it's a terrible comparison and completely random almost laughable.

They both relatively suck at it. Wayne sucks most of the time and when he actually strikes a good punchline it's nothing special. Eminem is hit and miss. Brett Farve & philly lines > a lot of punchlines I've heard while Not Afraid is full of garbage.

Royce Da 5'9 is "good" as well. He doesn't have any mind blowing punchlines. Rappers like Copy, Possessed, Diabolic, Vakill, ect destroy him.

It's not honestly. That punchline didn't impress me when he did it and it doesn't now. Besides, one punch doesn't make you a great punchline rapper.

That's just an example, he has other up-to-par punchlines. It's obvious you haven't thoroughly listened to Royce and if you did, you didn't catch 20% of his punchlines. If you don't think that punchline is great then you are delusional. Then again, you didn't undertsnad the punchline until somebody explained to you that "Evian" was a water brand...

Anyways here's my two cents, wordplay wise Big L was pretty average minus a few ones like the beavis line (which is overhyped as fuck) and (the I wasn't poor, I was po), but yeah he's not Possessed. The thing he had was shock factor, clarity, and humor. He didn't intend to over your head so that you could replay his verses 15 times over to get all the references he's throwing out, his was straight foward which I kind of liked. Another thing that's important is delivery and Big L always delivered his punchlines at the right time and was never monotonous when he threw out punchlines, so you couldn't really miss them, not to mention a lot of them (unless they were freestyles) fit full context into his verse and didn't just feel like some random non sequiter that disrupted the flow of the song ala Eminem, Lil Wayne.

Here's some great shock lines

I be placin snitches inside lakes and ditches
and if I catch aids than Imma start rapin bitches

Fifty g's is what the creep stole; so the next day
Knocked on his door and shot his granny through the peephole

I sex chicks, I'll even fuck a dead bitch

I never wear rubbers if I get aids fuck it

I dunno, I always liked straight foward lines rather than ones that try to go over your head, though I can appreciate well crafted lines that don't try too hard to be clever but pull it off with tact.

I will say though, that I find Chino Xl horrendously overrated in punchlines and his terrible delivery doesn't help, at times you miss his (shitty) punchlines. Not to mention how forced and corny some of them come off as.

I've never been a fan of I'm like_____ or punchlines that rely on allusions to make some clever wordplay.

I'm not delusional, I listen to 90% punchline rap, I know what good punchlines are. You don't. You listen to Eminem and Royce. Eminem is dreadful and Royce is just good. Just because you spell some obscure brand of water backwards doesn't mean it's a good punchline. Now, it would have been a good punchline if Evian backwards had something to do with water, that's genius but naive and water and completely unrelated so it's easy to tie them together. Anyone could do that.

That wasn't an opinion. I hate how you don't ever add anything to a conversation but I don't say anything about it :coffee:

Hey, look! It's Class assuming dumb shit! I've listened to everything you've listened to, dumbass. Copywrite, Diabolic, AOTP, Possessed (RA) etc... So there goes that argument and retarded claim/assumption without any sort of backing whatsoever (typical Class). I already said Eminem sucks at punchlines, I don't listen to him for his punchlines (remember when you said the same with Vinnie Paz? Yeah...)

It's obvious you're trolling, I hope. See, I have the decency to ackowledge that you're not stupid enough to not understand how Evian (a WATER bottle brand) is related to WATER. He's calling rappers naive (Evian backwards) for thinking they flow like water when in reality they flow like the water inside a relatively unknown bottled water brand (Evian). Honestly, how is a water bottle not related to water?
