Hip-Hop track of 2010?

Postby WakeUpShow » Dec 5th, '10, 02:07

imo it's "Battle Cry" by Joell Ortiz.
All-around perfect track. It's got that epic factor that gives me chills up my spine. The whole song just sounds so Victorious.

IMO It's just bullshit about being good. 100% Bravado 0% Real meaning. It's also kinda boring, no hook, etc. Good worplay and whatnot, but not that impressive. There are other WAY better Slaughterhouse family tracks.

LTWYL is definitely track of the year, popularity wise.

I'd choose a MBDTF track, maybe Blame Game, Gorgeous, or Hell Of A Life? They all resonate with me and are incredible musically.

Too many albums recently coming out to decide a song of the year already.I still haven't listened to TI's album and a bunch of others.I'd say Going thru changes, but Recovery been out for more then 6 months and it grown on me.I really like Crooked I-Villain ,Joel Ortiz-Oh! and offcourse Hopsin-Sag my pants(that shit is epic lol)

I mean, it's not really even a song, it's just lyrics. Dope lyrics, but nothing substantial. Very forgettable beat, the flow is pretty routine, no major central theme. He also uses the "Young Money punchline" a good amount, which I don't mind too much, but it's a little played out. Basically, you can start listening to the song at any point in its 5 minutes and hear the exact same thing in just different words.

Plus I don't like his voice haha, but I won't count that.

I do like it way better than LTWYL, I'll give you that.

the beat? woah that's the best part! one of the best i've heard. From the guitar riff all the way to the way the beat builds up and as it's climax's. Incredible. But I also like his voice, it's got that gritty underground feel to it.

Rhymefest - Familiar Faces for me...

Forced entry, the more wenchy, the more stingy I become
Been doing this for more than a quarter century, I'm just numb...
