Hopsin vs. Elzhi

Thoughts on who's better?

As for my input:

Delivery/Flow - I'd give this to Hopsin. He has a more diverse flow and comes up with some really nice intonation patterns such as those in Am I Psycho, and is also better when it comes to double time rapping. Elzhi on the other hand sounds more serious so to say, and is able to make certain moods more captivating. This comes from him being more poetic I guess, and the guy can really pull of that '90s vibe so if you prefer more "street" sounding MCs your vote will probably go to Elzhi.

Content - As I said, Elzhi is more poetic and tends to present the bigger picture which results with more maturity. Hopsin is more about comedy and he is usually focused on his everyday activities. As for the braggadocio aspect, they both get at it a lot but again deliver it in a different. They're also about the same with storytelling and concepts so I have to call this a tie.

Rhyming - This looks like another tie. I haven't spent the time to study their rhyming in a more detailed way but from what I've noticed they both excel in this field. You can say that Hopsin is Eminem influenced while Elzhi is Nas' student but that doesn't make any difference really.

Complexity - Hopsin makes his clever lines more outstanding from the rest of the verse while Elzhi delivers them like everything else and thus making them more subtle. Because of that however, I don't recall many examples from him so I can't get specific about it. In general, Hopsin can make you laugh in a more obvious but sometimes cornier way, while with Elzhi you'll have to be more focused to notice his cleverness. In other words, another tie it is.

Discography - I will only comment their best pieces of work. Raw is a better album than The Preface. It has a more enjoyable production and offers more diverse tracks. The Preface is something like Watch The Throne, not bad but there is a lack of standout songs. However, Elzhi did excellent job with Elmatic which shows you what he can do on a good production but unfortunately, it's not an original album so it wouldn't be very fair to use it as an advantage. Which doesn't mean that I won't so hence another tie. Their next solos projects should make the difference though.

Impact - They're both doing their thing on an underground level so this isn't a very important part of the discussion.

Overall, I'm leaning more towards Hopsin but I would call it a tie because they're both excellent but not in the same way.
