3 of my close friends love Rhyme Asylum and Atmosphere.
My one friend knows a SHIT TON of underground and old school.
Another kid I know loves JMT/AOTP.

I can't speak for the entire country, but based on the people I know, even some of the mainstream hip hop artists aren't very well-known. Like most people I know have never heard of Lupe Fiasco, for example. Most people I associate with would only know Kanye West, Jay-Z, Eminem and maybe 50 Cent (and from UK rappers, Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah, and Professor Green is quite well-known too now).

So yeah, I'd say Rhyme Asylum aren't well-known here.

you can tell from their facebook likes, they're still at 8,000 likes, Rhyme Asylum are almost underground in the underground :/ and that's a sad thing...

Imagine how much work RA put together in their albums for only to be recognized by such a small number of ppl, it's such a horrible discouragement
