The Official Hot beats thread

Postby momentsgolden » Mar 19th, '12, 11:16

Lately, hip-hop has been boring because of a lack of releases and this forum pretty much has set opinions about most artists (mainstream or otherwise) so this just takes a look at hip-hop from a different perspective. Whether instrumental releases or tracks whose instrumentals just blow your mind or producers u've been feeling... this is the place.

So far, 3 beats that have been going through my mind are-

Game ft Yelawolf- rough
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5SuZmz8J8c

For me the piano in that beat is mad crazy and i freaking love the instrumental hook... really makes the mood of the song so much better.

Killing me instrumental- Produced by Alchemist
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpZz-iismbY

its a shame this beat had to be butchered by Kid Cudi, Vado and Camron because its REALLY dope. The drum pattern is not overly original but it still tickles my fancy. Love it. (i'd love Eminem on this :flutter: )

Monsters in my head- Produced by Boi-1-da
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rz_wZ39JpmE

Was sleeping on this when it was on Game's mixtape but got blown away when Slaughterhouse jumped on it. crazy melodies going on.

P.S- embeding videos is so freakin hard i never remember how to do it.

So, since no one wants to contribute to this thread i get an unlimited pass to fucking abuse with my random thoughts about hip-hop production. So,

Just watched the "watch the throne voyr" segments on you tube and i can definitely agree that the guy puts his all into the music. How about this for a soundbit- "I'm aiming for awesomeness, excellence is but a bare minimunm" :smoking:

In light of that, his beats are just crazy, HUGE, arena feel about them and like Dj premier said, he definitely brought samples back into hip-hop. I mean, the power beat itself was dope but this "dj kinda mix" of the power track is a perfect example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8m4WT5v ... ure=fvwrel

Mike Shinoda just has an ability to make beats with minimal instruments sound good. And ALWAYS, ALWAYS his drums do it for me.

I wanna rap on this so badly. I just don't think I'll ever think of anything good enough lol.

Its by a producer by the name Clams Casino who produces for Soulja boy, Lil B and some other niggas. There's this one track off his self-titled instrumental mixtape which grabbed my attention though. It sounds so smooth, mellow... i've only heard the instrumental and DREAD listening to ANY rapper especially lil b ruin it with vocals. Lullaby legendary stuff.

I fucking LOVE the sample done on this beat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YF49mEFqE2U

by Alchemist but the beat is quite average to bad. Would you know any other beats using the same sample.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IuMcZs1bcs
I think i've heard it before

I got reminded this while going through name's Just Blaze thread and heard the sample in "breathe" by Fabulous

808's and heartbreak is a fucking great album!!! Damn, just been listening to it (3/4s done) and the lyricism is bad. But, all great non hip-hop albums have that level of lyricism (Adele, Whiteny, Micheal Jackson). Its the BEATS that fucking push this album over the top. Listen to this and tell me it aint bananas

Welcome to Heartbreak Kanye West Featuring Kid Cudi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMH0e8kIZtE

Also listened to Cheers for the first time and i really liked Eminem's production. It does become a little monotonous towards the end but its still pretty freaking good. This, for whatever reason, was my favourite beat. Its so cartoonish, sparse and yet wildly entertaining. All these "superhero" sounds seem to jump out of a comic book lol

Got Some Teeth- Obie Trice (Prod by Eminem)

-Terrorist Threats - Ab-Soul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_71q5lVEjc
-Black Lip Bastard - Ab-Soul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9YnuNFIlA4
-Rigamortis - Kendrick Lamar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBvngg87998
Funny video too, he raps that he will kill your favorite rapper and then he killed himself.

-No Make-Up (Her Vice) - Kendrick Lamar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlTrOuMnMmw
-Code Red - Jay Rock: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEmVQ1eCzMo
-Hands On the Wheel - Schoolboy Q: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWlu8VhcqtM
-Nightmare on Figg St. - SchoolBoy Q: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuZHD7DkidI
I've seriously not heard a bad lyric or bad beat on any TDE project to date. They got amazing in house producers, and that is just another reason I suggest everyone looks into this movements work.

-Get the Fuck Up! - Yelawolf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJbIzsmNEs4
Trunk Muzik has a shit load of good beats so check that project out.

-Live from the Underground - Big K.R.I.T.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBEkKii-sfw
This album has a load of dope soulful beats.

-Pray (It's a Shame) - Slaughtehouse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_9U2NE0wfI
Their debut had dope beats, this one's my favorite beat and track.

-The World is a Ghetto - BJ the Chicago Kid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s40ZLPNerls
-Project Window - Punch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkhgSPHuq1s
-Cloud 10 - Kendrick Lamar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC7tthGdCTE&feature=related
-Klusterfuk - Tech N9ne: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltlad96B5M4
-Can't Stand Me - Tech N9ne: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gg4pX9GpkRI
-Growin' Up in the Gutter - Yelawolf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnFRGQclHNE
-Heartbeat - Childish Gambino: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6dCufvUCxA
Camp had a lot of good beats.

-Sopa - Ab-Soul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNpcN_iQszk
-Drug Test - The Game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMtyt-pieVM
-Grown Simba - J Cole: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_meXr3tKgFg

I tried to do more modern beats, which I did, that weren't Eminem, 50 Cent, Kanye, or Jay-Z beats because everyone knows those four's production is amazing and have most likely heard a majority of their songs.

^Well, if you dont know TDE then you not hip-hop! lol its true bro, Kendrick Lamar is the next Eminem and he is bringing the 3 with him haha

Oh, this-
Pray (It's a Shame) - Slaughtehouse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_9U2NE0wfI

Reminded me that Pray by Jay Z is fucking crazy. LOVE that haunted sound. I wish Eminem could cover that someday... thats how much i love it.

Plus, i really liked Cuckoo on that Slaughterhouse album. Its schizophrenic and hypnotic.
