Producers work hard on their beats, if macmiller used it without permission ( probaly just ripped it of youtube or some shit ) he deserves to be sued. $ 10 M is a bit too much but the producer should be compensated with a nice ammount of $$

I know producers work hard on beats but this is truly fucked up. Did you know that these copyright laws only came in in 2004? Before then it was ripping a WHOLE song that got you sued not taking a sample. How on earth would people like John Connor afford to create the People's rapper LP. Elzhi with Elmatic would have cost a fortune. Sometimes people want to milk their worth and i understand... but the lawsuits ruin creativity for the artists and that can only be bad for the fans.

A lot of people would see it as, pay for the beat, make beats yourself, OR become friends with someone who makes beats and work as a team like people did before the internet.
